I spent the first half of my childhood attending a very traditional, liturgical-style church. While I remember Sunday School being rich with biblical stories and foundational truths from God's Word, I confess I found the hymns a little dry.

Every Easter Sunday, however, I remember going to church with great anticipation that we would sing the song, which, in my humble opinion at the time, was the most lively hymn of all, "He Arose."

As I grew older, I learned to appreciate the old hymns for the depth of their theology and the powerful testimonies that inspired them.

A few weeks ago, I heard Tommee Profitt & Phil Wickham's version of this beloved hymn. It not only opened a floodgate of precious memories from my past, but it ministered to my weary heart and reminded me of my victorious Savior and the daily victory we have through Him because HE AROSE!!!

Let's not wait until Resurrection Sunday to joyfully & boldly proclaim: "Hallelujah, He Arose!"

We can proclaim it in our joy, sorrow, weariness, trials, temptations, and when we are struggling with sin...because "The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in [us]. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, He will give life to [our] mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within [us]." Romans 8:11 NLT

May God minister to your hearts as you worship Him as your Risen Savior today!
