Revelation 21:19-20 (KJV) And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

Revelation 21:17-18 (KJV) And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

Revelation 21:15-16 (KJV) And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

A Reply to a question I received online asking:
A. why do people say at funerals and such that they(friends or loved ones that have passed on) are in a better place free from pain and sickness and suffering, no matter how they have lived thier lives?
B. What do you think about people saying the raptured folks do not just disappear but their body’s are left here and will have to be buried and so forth?

Answer:
INMHO
The reason so many people say things such as that, is they have a twisted grasp of the afterlife or they do not want to talk about their loved ones going to any other place but to something better than the here and now. Some believe in, that there are many ways to God but the Word clearly states that there was only one way to God given to us and that’s through Believing in Jesus Christ and what He alone has done on the cross to reconcile us back to God.

The ones who believe in God and have studied His Word in honesty can have a completely different, (and in my belief correct) view of such things.
Now even in those circles there are things taught that do not completely line up with the Word of God given to us by inspiration and written down by Gods inspired and chosen men for us to study and learn about our Lord and Savior.

In the Word it says “we are born in the image of God” and we live this life with complete free will to love God or not.
We are brought up by our parents or others believing a certain way, but once we reach a certain maturity (some call this the age of accountability)where we understand good and evil to some degree the Holy Spirit of God begins steering us in a direction to hear about God and eventually we have opportunities to believe in Him. Every individual has to decide in their lives at some point to Believe in God and trust in Him as their Lord and Savior or they will reject Him and choose not to believe. Those who are not yet to that level of maturity to understand good and evil and if they should pass will be received by God.

The rest of us when we pass will go immediately in the spirit to God and our body’s are buried or cremated here or lost at sea or many other things that could happen to bodies.

Now when the rapture occurs the dead in Christ (those who chose to believe in Him) will rise first that is those who have passed believing in Christ Jesus as their lord and Savior)before the rapture(catching away). Their body’s, no matter where or how they were interred here on Earth, will rise up first, then those who are alive and believe in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior will rise body soul and spirit and all these will be changed from corruptible bodies to incorruptible! And the spirits of those who passed before (believers) which have come back with Him will be reunited with their new incorruptible bodies which have been raised and we will all go with Christ Jesus to the marriage supper of the lamb.
This all happens in a twinkling of an eye so almost instantaneously!!!!!

Those who have chosen not to believe in Christ Jesus and His work alone on the cross and therefore have rejected Him, will when they pass be buried and their spirit will go to God and be judged.
And since they have not chosen to believe in the work of Christ and taken Him as their Lord and Savior choosing instead another god or to be their own master they will be judged accordingly by God the only perfectly Holy and Righteous Judge wholly Loving and wholly Just, He will judge them according to thier so called righteous works( all the good things they did ) and unrighteousness works (bad deeds so to speak)( of-course in the Word of God we read “their righteousness is as filthy rags to a perfect and Holy God!”) and they will be sent to the undesirable place prepared for the devil and the angels that followed him. It is a place of torment that they have chosen by rejecting the only way back to God afforded to man by God Himself which is:
“ belief in Christ Jesus and His work on the cross”

So I believe the raptured folk who are alive at the time will leave this earth with body soul and spirit and just be gone from here in an instant. Not leave their bodies behind to be dealt with.

I pray this helps your understanding.

Revelation 21:9-10 (KJV) And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
