This week in both our reading plan and the “After His Heart” series, we continue seeing something important about David:
A man after God’s heart was not a perfect man.
David failed. He sinned. He repented. He worshipped. He kept turning back to God again and again.
So here’s this week’s question:

When you mess up, what is your first reaction?
Hide it?
Carry shame?
Try to fix it yourself?
Or bring it honestly to God?

(You don't have to write a long answer. Even one word is okay.)

We all face temptation and fall short of God's glory. God calls us to repentance. And, while repentance doesn't erase consequences, it isn't the end of the story. True repentance, which changes you from the inside out, brings restoration: to our relationship with God, to our hope, to our dry bones.
