About Life Gate Baptist Church
Founded in October 1974, Life Gate Baptist Church is an independent, Fundamental Baptist church located on the north side of Arab, just south of Huntsville, Alabama. Was the pastor for the first 31 years of the church's history and retired on October 16, 2005. He is now Pastor Emeritus. Following Dr. Emerson's retirement, Brother Jeff Mims served as Interim Pastor
until March 26, 2006 when he was elected Pastor by unanimous vote of the congregation. There are more than 15,000 independent Baptist churches in America and at least 10,000 independent Baptist missionaries serving on mission fields worldwide. Every independent Baptist church is an autonomous congregation. We are self- governing and self-supporting. The head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. It is our desire to be a truly New Testament church. At Life Gate Baptist Church we have one message-the message of the Lord Jesus Christ, and one ministry-the ministry He has given us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. the Tennessee River Bridge, 7 miles
south from Morgan city, on the
right just past mile marker 292. From Guntersville
Take Hwy. 69 toward Arab. Just past Marshall
Medical Center North, turn right on
Eddy-Scant City Road. (Not Scant City Road)
Go appr. 6 miles to traffic light
and turn right onto Hwy 231 North. A couple of miles on left
is Life Gate.
