Family camp day is an alternative program to provide camping ministry in lieu of the COVID-19 pandemic. Families will choose one of 3 days offered to bring their family up to Toyon Camp for the day. Families will get to enjoy some of our favorite Toyon traditions such as: arts and crafts, games, ropes courses, archery, small groups, color wars, worship, meals, and our world famous talent show “Toyon Got Talent”.

Lodging is available for 1 night. Families who choose to stay the night will be placed with their families in one of our cabins. Families will be able to stay the night and will need to depart the next morning.

Family DAY CAMP: 9:00am-8pm ($65)
Family OVERNIGHT CAMP: 9:00am-9:00am ($95)

FAQ:
1.) All campers MUST be accompanied by someone 18 years or older.
2.) One person in the party had to be of “campers age” entering 3rd-entering 12th grade.
3.) There is NO LIT program this year. Those that are LIT age can come to camp accompanied by an adult.
4.) You can only sign up for 1 family day this summer.
5.) Upon leaving camp you will be give. A camp T-shirt, save the date for next summer, and a packet of how to continue the summer camp theme at home.

We have ALL intentions of returning to our full/normal summer camp program for the 2022 camping season. I know that this is not the “camp experience” many were hoping for, but we are hoping you will join us to continue to keep the ministry and tradition of camping alive!

*All staff will be either vaccinated or tested 72 hours prior to coming to camp. Staff will be staying and site and in the local area during the week.

WE’RE BACKKKKKK! 🎉❤️ The thought of being in this space with these people makes me feel a million different emotions. So much time, energy, and prayer went into our camp planning this year and I am forever thankful for those who let me share my vision and supported me in making it a reality.

Like everything, our camp experience has to be shifted for this summer, but we are accepting it with grace and excitement that we still get to be together in some capacity.

With health and safety of our campers, staff, and families at the forefront of our decision we have decided to not do our traditional week long camp experience this summer. Instead we will be offering family day camp!

TOYON CAMP FAMILY DAYS:
7/11, 7/13, OR 7/15 9am-8pm!

Your family can register to join us at camp for a Toyon Family Camp Day! Our family camp day will be filled from start to finish with our traditional Toyon camp activities. Lunch & dinner will be provided. Campers and their families will get to go on hikes, try our ropes courses and rock wall, do arts and crafts, enjoy a community based small group, AND participate in some Toyon classics like color wars, our world famous Toyon’s Got Talent show, and s’mores around a campfire!

Overnight lodging in our cabins is available for your family and priority will be given to families who live more than 2 hours away. Families who live less than 2 hours away are encouraged to drive home that evening, but depending on availability may be able to stay overnight as well. Any family staying overnight will need to depart by 9am the following morning.

*At least one family member must be of camper age (entering 3rd grade-entering twelfth grade). All ages are welcome, but one person in the party must be of camper age. Parent(s) or Guardian(s) must be present and stay for the whole family camp day.

This will be a great way for campers to get a taste of their favorite camp activities, reunite with old camp friends/staff, and for families to experience the joy and magic of summer camp.

I know that there are probably a lot of questions as this camp model is new and unfamiliar. I will be hosting an informational zoom on 5/3 at 7pm. (more details to follow).

Hi friends! As you all know I am the director of a sleep away camp run through the United Methodist Conference, Toyon Camp! I wanted to share information that we have released regarding COVID-19 and our plans for camp this summer.

We are still planning and preparing for Toyon Camp 2020! (I’m sure after sheltering in place with your kiddos a week or them away this summer sounds amazing- haha!) We will assess the current global crisis and adjust our plans for camp as needed, but for now we are eagerly planning and preparing for the best week of the year! We are asking for families to continue to register their children entering 3rd-9th grade for camp and 10th-12th for our Leaders In Training program. We have adjusted our cancellation policy for the time being. Please read the information below regarding our response to COVID-19 and our new cancellation policy.

I encourage you all to give your children this week at camp over the summer ❤️

It's not too late to give your kid's the summer experience of a life time! Toyon Camp is still taking registration for children entering 34rd-9th grade, as well as our Leader in Training program for youth going into 10th-12th grade.

CAMP IS JULY 9-14! It is a 5 night sleep away camp where children get to do ropes courses, a rock wall, arts and crafts, archery, hike, enjoy a day at the beach, participate in our famous talent show/dance party, make new friends, eat delicious food, and most importantly learn more about Jesus and grow deeper in their faith.

Camp is truly an experience that changes lives. Not only will your child gain independence, but they will also make friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
