Amitabha Foundation USA Amitabha Foundation Headquarters and Dharma Center Choeje Ayang Rinpoche. Phowa practice is open only to those who have taken Ayang Rinpoche’s Phowa Course.

The Rochester Amitabha Foundation group meets on Sunday mornings 9 AM for Shamatha Meditation and 10-11 AM for Vajrasattva meditation, as taught by H.E. Shamatha is also known as Calm Abiding Meditation and is a good place to start or people new to Meditation. Vajrasattva practice is a guided visualization, following an audio recording of Ayang Rinpoche. We hold group practices of the Drikung Phowa (Full Moon day) and Nyingma Phowa (New Moon day) each month. Call for current practice schedule.

Dear Sangha Members and Friends of Amitabha Foundation,

We hope this message finds you well and in the practice of Dharma. It is with a deep sense of reverence and humility that we share an important update regarding the final ceremonies of our beloved master, His Eminence Chojé Ayang Rinpoche.

His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Orgyen Trinley Dorje, has chosen the date for Rinpoche's cremation to be held on July 18, 2026, at Thupten Shedrub Jangchubling Monastery, Bylakuppe, Mysore District, Karnataka, India.

Please note that students residing abroad and planning to attend the cremation will need a Protected Zone Permit (PAP) to stay in the Tibetan Colony of Bylakuppe. We encourage anyone considering this journey to begin this process well in advance, as obtaining the necessary documents may take time.

As this day approaches, let us all take time to reflect on Rinpoche's profound teachings and boundless compassion, and dedicate our practice to realizing his enlightened aspirations.
