Such a glorious Easter celebration…He is risen! May each day of this Easter season be filled with new life in Christ and the transforming power of His Resurrection!

Jesus shall reign where’er the sun
Doth his successive journeys run;
His Kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
Till moons shall wax and wane no more.

To Him shall endless prayer be made.
And princes throng to crown His head,
His name like sweet perfume shall rise
With every morning sacrifice.

People and realms of every tongue
Dwell on His love with sweetest song;
And infant voices shall proclaim
Their early blessings on His name.

Blessings abound where’er He reigns:
The prisoner leaps to lose his chains,
The weary find eternal rest,
And all the sons of want are blest.

Let every creature rise and bring
Peculiar honors to our King,
angels descend with songs again,
and earth repeat the loud amen

We would love you to join us this weekend as we honor and celebrate the high point of the church calendar…the suffering, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We are excited to gather as a community and worship together!

GOOD FRIDAY: Friday evening, 7-8 p.m. Scripture and hymn service, focusing on the Passion of Christ.
EASTER SUNDAY: Worship at 10 a.m. followed by a brunch and egg hunt. A celebration of Jesus’ victory over death, forgiveness of sins, and hope for eternal life!

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia

MOTHER: The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Ps 27:1). Now, surrounded by loved ones and friends, and with the symbols of our rejoicing, we gather for this celebration. Alongside the household of Israel, our elders and young ones, we link the past with the future. Once again, we hear and obey the call to service. Living out our story, which is told for all peoples and whose conclusion is yet to unfold, we gather to observe this Passover…

PEOPLE: May the lights we now kindle inspire us to use our strength which You give to help and not to hinder, to love and not to hate, to bless and not to curse, to serve and worship You.

Just this portion of the Haggadah, as we light the candles to begin the feast, contains so many rich truths. The Seder meal was such a beautiful and powerful evening, retelling countless miracles, gifts of grace and mighty deliverances brought by the hand of our faithful Savior. Reminding ourselves and teaching our children who we are (and Whose we are) as the people of God, strengthens us for our own unique moment in history…always called to help, love, bless, serve and worship.

Memorable quote to reflect on from this morning’s sermon on prayer from Matthew 21.

“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
Psalm 27:14

“The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.“
Isaiah 9:2

A month full of rich gifts; new babies and baptisms and membership vows and feasting and fellowship and celebrating the birth of our Savior! His light brings life to our broken world and the darkness cannot overcome it!

O ye heights of heav’n, adore Him; angel hosts, His praises sing: pow’rs, dominions, bow before Him
and extol our God and King; let no tongue on earth be silent, every voice in concert ring, evermore and evermore!

Such a beautiful Advent choral meditation this morning…”Of the Father’s Love Begotten” is one of the very oldest known carols, written in the 4th century and sung by God’s people ever since.

Join us to worship the Savior of the world on Christmas Eve, 5-6 p.m. for our annual “Lessons and Carols” candlelight service.

O ye heights of heav’n, adore him; angel hosts, his praises sing: all dominions, bow before him and extol our God and King; let no tongue on earth be silent, ev’ry voice in concert ring, evermore and evermore!

Hope you can join us!!!

Tomorrow is the First Sunday of Advent, and also the first week of the church calendar, marking the start of the liturgical year. This calendar is organized around the life of Christ beginning with Advent. Throughout this season of anticipation and longing, we will have seasonal responsive readings, sing Advent hymns and this question from the Heidelberg catechism will be our creed. Oh, to get these truths deep into our bones and live every day in light of their comfort!

“Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples!”
1 Chronicles 16:8

Just a snapshot that tells a story: one of our favorite church traditions is sharing a thanksgiving meal as a community on this same Sunday each November and reflecting on all of God’s goodness and grace in the past year. We have an open mic and one by one, saints of all ages, get up and publicly “make known His deeds among the peoples”. We praise God for children, marriages, sunshine, automobiles, music, jobs, education, teachers, housing, friendships, trials, triumphs, answers to prayer, our crosses and our glories…the list truly goes on and on and on and the surface of what we’ve been given is just barely scratched.

The discipline and practice of gratitude is transformative and shapes every part of our lives. Such a joy to start off this week with hearts focused on an awareness of all our many blessings through Christ

Quote from a recent sermon on Psalm 30 to reflect on…”unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit”. In the kingdom of Christ, the way up is always down!

“Do you unreservedly dedicate your child to God, and promise, in humble reliance upon divine grace, that you will endeavor to set before her a godly example, pray with and for her, teach her the doctrines, lifestyle, and liturgies of our holy religion, and do you now vow to strive, by all the means of God’s appointment, to bring her up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord?”

So many precious souls born in recent months with many more on the way. So grateful to welcome this little one into our community, praying regularly with and for her, a precious sister in Christ, fellow heir of the covenant promises of God.🙏🏼❤️

“Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints.“
Psalm 116:15

Commemorated Charlie Kirk’s birthday on Sunday at a paddle out with churches from all over the Monterey Bay. It was a memorable time honoring and giving thanks for a life well lived. His faithful witness is a testimony and encouragement for believers of all ages!
