From the bottom of my heart, some of y'all need to hear this.

How many times have you wanted to get even with someone who wronged you?

As Christians, we are called to “overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). But it's easier said than done.

Remember that getting even means stooping to their level. When we choose to respond in love rather than evil, it brings glory to God.

God has a higher calling for us: "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you." (Matthew 5:44)

Pastor Adrian Rogers offers us a little friendly advice:

"You want me to tell you how to get rid of an enemy? Make a friend out of him."

Have you ever had an enemy turn into your friend by the grace and goodness of God?

Let us all keep in prayer the family and friends of the Appomattox deputy who was killed in the line of duty yesterday. May the Lord bring comfort and peace to them. Keep our first responders in prayer. What they do is full of danger and risk.
