From the Pastor's Desk:
To Our Faithful Supporters, Friends, and Family of First Mount Moriah,
Grace and peace to each of you. As we stand on the sacred ground of 160 years of God’s faithfulness, my heart overflows with gratitude. This anniversary was not simply a date — it was a declaration. A reminder that through every season, every challenge, and every triumph, God has kept us, covered us, and carried us.
And woven into that testimony is you — your prayers, your presence, your generosity, and your unwavering belief in the ministry of this historic church on the hill that cannot be hid.
This year’s celebration was made richer, stronger, and more meaningful because of the extraordinary people who stood with us:
Columbia County Commissioner Alison Couch — thank you for honoring our congregation with the presentation of an official county resolution. Your presence affirmed our legacy and reminded us that our story is deeply interwoven with the story of this county we love.
Lady Patricia Ramsey — thank you for serving with such grace, poise, and spiritual excellence as our worship leader. You guided us with a steady hand and a worshipping heart, helping us lift our praise in a way worthy of this moment.
Reverend C. Whitney Simmons, Pastor of Woodlawn Missionary Baptist Church (Louisville, GA) and Harmony Baptist Church (Augusta, GA), and President of the Tenth District GMBC of Georgia — thank you for bringing a powerful, timely, and anointed WORD. Your preaching stirred our spirits, strengthened our faith, and reminded us that God is still speaking to His people.
To the Woodlawn Missionary Baptist Church and Harmony Baptist Church families — thank you for standing with your pastor and standing with us. Your presence added joy, strength, and fellowship to our celebration.
Because of each of you, our 160th Anniversary was not only beautiful — it was historic.
Because of you, we honored our past with dignity, celebrated our present with joy, and stepped into our future with confidence.
As we move forward, we do so knowing that the same God who sustained our ancestors is sustaining us still. And with supporters like you walking beside us, we are certain that the next chapter of First Mount Moriah will shine even brighter than the last.
From my heart to yours — thank you.
May the Lord return to you a hundredfold the love, kindness, and strength you have poured into this ministry.
With deep appreciation and love,
Rev. Curtis Williams, Pastor
