MIDWEEK MINDSET

This week during our men's and women's bible studies, one of the verses we focused on was:

Ephesians 5:1"Be ye, therefore, imitators of God."

In order to understand this scripture we had to find out what is the "therefore" referring to. In Ephesians 4:31-32 is reads, '31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.'

With that understanding, we are told to be imitators of God and to forgive like He forgives us. Do we do that? Do we let go of bitterness and anger and hurt and forgive like Christ forgives us - as if it is completely forgotten? Do we love like God loves us?

Let Ignite Church always be known for our dedication to imitate God. Let others know us by our fruit. Let us set a example that God Himself would be pleased with.

MIDWEEK MINDSET

During our Men's and Women's Bible Studies this week, one of the scriptures we focused on was:

Mark 11:22(23) 22“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly[a] I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.'"

What does it mean to "Have faith in God?" Having faith is an ACTION. It is an active reliance on God, not a passive belief. Jesus told the disciples to have faith, not to think about it, not to formulate a plan of their own - to have faith in God. Period.

Do we have faith in God in our daily walks? Are we ok with getting out of God's way and letting Him do things in His way and His timing?

Faith changes things. May we always be open and ready for God to change us!

Luke 4:1-4
1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.
3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’"

Jesus fasted - and we are to follow His example.

What are you being called to fast from today? What will you set aside and replace with more time in God's word and at His feet?
