The woman at the well was focused on a mountain.

Jesus was focused on her heart.

Because worship was never supposed to be transactional. It was always meant to be relational.

You can know facts about Jesus and still miss relationship with Jesus. You can sing the right songs, attend the right church, and follow the right traditions, yet still have a heart far from God.

The Father isn't looking for polished performances.

He's looking for surrendered hearts.

He's looking for people who worship in spirit and in truth.

This is SouthShore 🎶

We’re giving you a closer look at Church at SouthShore, what makes our community special, and what you can expect when you walk in the room.

This week, meet Russell, our Worship Leader. He’s sharing how he got started in worship and how he experiences the presence of the Holy Spirit in the room each week.

Make sure to join us this upcoming Sunday at 9:30 AM at SLAM Academy in Apollo Beach as Russell and our amazing praise team lead us in worship. 🙌

Sunday Sermon Recap!

What if worship is more than songs?

Paul said offering our lives to God is our "true and proper worship." In the Greek, that carries the idea of something reasonable, fitting, and appropriate.

In other words, when you understand all that God has done for you, surrender stops feeling extreme and starts feeling reasonable.

And one of the greatest threats to worship is not always sin. Sometimes it’s distraction. Because the enemy doesn’t just distract us with bad things. He distracts us with busy things. Busy people feel productive, responsible, and justified. When Martha was busy, Mary was intentional.

Worship is not accidental.

Worship is chosen.

Today we pause to remember.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation and paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free.

As we gather with family and friends, may we also take a moment to reflect and remember.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

From the SouthShore family to yours, we remember. We're grateful.

No matter what you are facing, you are never alone. The Word reminds us again and again that even when life feels uncertain, overwhelming, or lonely, God is with us. Through every trial, every fear, and every season, His presence never leaves us. 🤍

What if the greatest battle you’re fighting isn’t happening around you? What if it's happening within you?

David called it “the valley of the shadow of death.” Because sometimes the battle isn’t just external. It’s internal. Not just a threat around us, but a battle within us.

Elijah knew that tension too.

The same man who stood before kings, called down fire from Heaven, and watched God move in powerful ways still wrestled with fear, loneliness, and despair.

Anxiety has a narrative:

What if God doesn’t provide?
What if I’m alone?
What if things never change?

But faith has a narrative too.

The question is: whose report will you believe?

Mother’s Day may have passed, but these moments were too good not to share. ❤️

This past Sunday at Church at SouthShore, we laughed, reflected, and celebrated the incredible moms who help shape our homes, our families, and our faith. From funny stories to heartfelt tributes, this video is full of moments that remind us just how special moms really are.

To every mom, grandmother, spiritual mother, and mother figure… thank you for all you do. We love and appreciate you more than words can say.
