Calvary Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The first worship service was held December 24, 1939 led by Rev. William Werling with about eight families. Services were held on the second floor of the Starr Theater. Other services were held in members homes, and in two buildings on North and South Main Streets, and finally the Quonset building in front of the current An

twerp Public Library. This is where the name Mount Calvary Lutheran Church was dedicated. In 1967 the congregation purchased land and constructed the church at its current location. The current Pastor, Rev. Zechiel, was installed August 4, 2019.
