Matt Waddell lost his dad on Sunday. He went to check on him and found him dead at home. He lost his mom just a few weeks ago. The service for his dad will be Thurs. Visitation from 12 -2 with a gravesite service to follow at Woodlawn on Thompson Lane. Please keep Matt and Lea in your prayers.

Attention all former South Gate members and regular attendees. Amelia is putting together a history of the church and having it printed. It will include any pictures that we could find as well. Not sure of the cost yet but will probably be around $15. Please let us know if you would be interested so we know how many copies to have printed.

Pastor Eliab invites all South Gate Baptist Church members to join them for worship on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at 10 a.m., and then stay for a special lunch afterward in honor of South Gate Baptist Church members. They will also be celebrating Iglesia Bautista Renacer’s fifth anniversary. Please make plans to attend. We would love to see you there!

The Leadership Teams of both churches invite you to attend the ceremony on Sunday morning, January 7, 2018, at 10 a.m. where the Asset Transfer Agreement will be signed during the morning service. All of the South Gate family is invited to witness this great occasion in the final closing of South Gate Baptist Church and the great gift given by South Gate to Iglesia Bautista as they move on in the service of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

JOIN US FOR SOUTH GATE'S FINAL SERVICE. SEPTEMBER 24, 2017 @ 10:30 AM

There are many seasons and many roads traveled, many joys and heartbreaks, times of plenty and of need, in all these things our God is in control and with us through it all.

It is His control that is simultaneously both a source of comfort and stress. We can take shelter in the fact that no matter the circumstances in our lives God will take them and make something great out of them for those who love him, which we can bank on good things coming in to our lives.

This is also a great source of stress because our lives can and will be tumultuous and in the moment we lose perspective on the good and our lives are filled with what feels like a pain too great to handle or survey a life full of insurmountable giants that are in need of toppling.

We struggle with these moments trying our best as fallible people to do as God has commanded. To do things with excellence, love, understanding and grace. We doubt ourselves as situations spiral beyond our control trying to fix things that were never ours to fix.

The Bible tell us that God has a plan for each of us, for our good as his children. God doesn't run specific plans by us before he puts them in motion. We learn to hold on tight and enjoy the journey, to celebrate the experience and the wonders God shows us while on the journey that we would have never seen on our own.

It's for that reason that we want to worship as South Gate one last time. To celebrate our God and all He does for us, to celebrate the good He has poured in to each of us and the family of South Gate. We want to invite past members, old friends, family, loved ones to come and join us as we mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. To glorify the one true King and praise Him for all His many blessings poured out on us now and in the future.

Come join us as we remember God's church that we were all blessed to be a part of.

Anxiety is a fear based on stuff we can't control. We are anxious when we feel like life is spinning out of our grasp. This is why 1 Peter 5:6-7 starts off with with humble yourself before God, then cast your fears on him.

See with out submitting to God's authority and God's plan we end up right back where we started, fearful about the future that we can't control.

Submit to God because we may not always understand his timing or see the light at the end of the tunnel, but by clinging to him you will always come through the storms in your life.
