SELFLESS OR SELFISH?

“And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?” Genesis‬ ‭4:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬.

Dearly beloved and friends, do you know that in this life you are not an island unto yourself? Your existence is not necessarily about you alone but about others as well.Do you know that God positions you in a place of work, church or a Neighbourhood because He needed you to bless a particular person(s)?In this generation, people have become selfish, callous ,greedy and cheats.

“Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Galatians‬ ‭6:2‬.
“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. “Ephesians‬ ‭4:32‬.

Examples of terrible brothers:
1.Jacob and Esau(twins): Jacob supplanted his blood brother.(Genesis 25:29-34)
2.Cain and Abel:Blood brothers:Cain killed Abel because of envy(Genesis 4:3-5)
3.Joseph and his brothers: His brothers hated him and sold him into slavery(Genesis 37:18-22)

Examples of good ones:
1.Andrew and Peter:Andrew found the Saviour and later invited his brother(John 1:40-42).
2.Mary and Martha:Always together in their ministry(John 11:19-21)
3.YOU:Are you truly your brother/sister’s keeper
-Make a difference:Heaven is watching you.

Prayer Points:
1.Father,let me be a true brother/Sister to my neighbor and thereby lead them to You.
2.May my negligence of benevolence to someone not lead to my ultimate condemnation.
3.Father,let my life be a living sacrifice for You my brethren and for humanity in Jesus name.

LEAVE A GODLY LEGACY:ADD VALUE TO LIVES.

Saw this on Archbishop Ajisafe's page. Profound and couldn't help but share.

CORRECT YOUR ORIENTATION ABOUT PASTORS TODAY.

"The lawyer is working,
The lecturer is working,
The journalist is working,
But the pastor is playing abi?
You try,
Clap for yourself.

You think everyone else in every other profession is really busy, but when it's a pastor, you say 'go and look for a job'.
Weldone!

We applaud professions that don't offer real value to people but think less of Pastors who do.

Footballers earn far more than doctors,
Comedians earn far more than teachers,
Most Pastors earn very little or nothing.
And you think that's fine?

How has Messi helped your life or given you a new hope for living?

How has Basketmouth saved your marriage or helped deliver you from addiction?

But pastors are involved daily, bearing the brunts of helping people live a better life and yet when we see them own few things we behave as though they don't deserve anything.

In case you don't know, being a pastor is one of the most demanding and sacrificial work I know on earth.

I am a pastor. I have been a pastor for the past 28 years now.

I have been to police stations severally because of church members.
I have visited several hospitals and spent nights there awake because of church members.
I have travelled long distances, given up my belongings, attended to marriages at the verge of divorce, and conducted funerals all because of church members.

The last was a family who were barely 4 months in church had an accident and the woman and her baby died on the spot. When I got there, their whole family was crying to me, asking me in tears 'pastor why?'

Who else is supposed to answer such a question? Its always the pastor. Yet in the midst of that, he brings courage and restore hope.

But when it comes to a pastor having money, people will frown and wag their tongue against it. And yet the economy is not different for pastors o!

Everyone else cries but when a pastor does, he has no faith.

Everyone can bring their problems to pastor but no one asks if pastor has eaten, he should tell it to God. Even when they know, they abandon him to it and say "afterall, he said God called him"

Everyone else can be forgiven when they make a mistake, but pastors' mistakes are unforgivable. ('And he calls himself a pastor' is always the line)

Everyone can be rich but not pastors, else the society will begin to talk.

You will read headlines, "members are poor but pastor is rich" but you won't ever hear of or read when "members are rich and their pastor is poor".

You think it doesn't happen?

I have seen a church where many members have big cars but they all drive home without anyone offering to drop pastor and his family home first, not to talk of buying him a car.

Do you know that majority of Pastors are actually struggling financially, doing menial ones to survive? But they won't tell you. See, let me tell you, if you see a pastor doing jobs while in ministry, let your heart be moved favourably toward them and treat them honourably especially your Pastor. They are doing so out of need, heaviness of heart and neglect by their church members. Be touched to bless them. Have a programme of blessing for your Pastor. If you are a salary earner, arrange to bless your Pastor from every of your salary, it is not in the size but love. That s will greatly make them happy and encourage them.

They're sacrificing a lot. When you are asleep, they are awake praying for you, your job, family and business. As you are free to enjoy your spouse at will, they can not for prayer and fasting, all because of church members. Worst still, when your business booms, you Dont remember them, you may even take offence for little correction and leave the church, off you go.

Instead of you quoting scriptures to teach that pastors should work (as if pastoring is not hard work), it should be your desire to be able to care for them, help meet their needs and constantly put smiles on their faces.

Don't join the bandwagons of ingrates who dislike pastors and do all they can to defame them
I pray you today, celebrate Pastors and their wife's, even children, they have sacrificed and pay prices because of you.

God bless every Pastor in the house.

*DON'T STOP THAT HELPING HANDS!!!*

He lived on me during our undergraduate days because his parents were poor.

My family didn't mind, in fact he had the key to my room, he could come in any time like our child.

He respected me so much, we were so closed.

After our Youth Service, I travelled to America for further studies, my parents have the means.

Before long I settled in America, his letters started coming in, asking about life in America and telling me about difficult life in Nigeria.

I thought to myself, it's better I severe relationship with this poor guy, before he started asking me to bring him to America.

Haven't I done enough in his life?

Let him go and sort himself out.

I finally severed the relationship.

I didn't allow him to have access to me again.

Not long, I heard he has become PA to a Medical Doctor, good for him.

In no time the Medical Doctor became a Governor and sponsored him to the State House of Representative.

He became Speaker, then he became Governor of the State.

While still struggling in America it dawned on me that I have missed it, a friend God gave me to assist and yet I stopped.

We would have ruled the State together baring the respect he had for me.

My dear friend, this is a true life story I have just shared with you.

*Who you are helping today?*

*Whatever the situation and circumstances of your family and friends, don't neglect them in times of need.*

*Even, if you don't have money, you should have words that comfort them.*

The journey of success is a gradual process. In as much you can stay on your lane and be focus on your hustling, success will materialise. Never get carried away with other people's success and allow yourself to be depressed, God has a way of visiting His own people at the right time of life.

You might have a slow beginning, fallen on so many occasions but if you can hold onto your vision and focus on the promises of God. It's just a matter of time a little boy will surely become a Man. Don't stress out yourself but stay focused to your vision.

I see your life turning around for good in Jesus mighty name.

*Topic: Forgive Them! (1st Statement)*
*Text: Luke 23: 34*

_Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Amen_

Today we begin a 7 day series on the 7 different statements the Lord Jesus made on the cross before He gave up His Spirit.

Beloved, from the night of His arrest to the cross, Jesus was really mistreated. Multitudes spat, yelled at and insulted him, calling him all manner of names. The soldiers who whipped and tore his flesh from his body, also manhandled Him miserably as He made His way to Golgotha. There on the “place of skulls”, they rid Him naked and nailed Him on a cross.

The pain must have been unbearable. The such that makes one want to curse and revenge. Yet we see Jesus demonstrate immeasurable compassion for the very people who had meted out such vile words and treatment.

His loving heart was so moved with compassion that He moved a step further from forgiving them, to asking Our father in Heaven to forgive them also. How wonderful?

Beloved, our daily lives are sometimes filled with situations of betrayal by the very people we trust and love. Sometimes the words, actions or otherwise of these so called loved ones bring us to a place of ridicule, shame, disappointment, pain, anger and resentment. These betrayals could be so grave that it seems impossible to forgive our offenders, not to even think of interceding for them.

However, being imitators of Christ, let’s be on our way to loving even our enemies and praying for them. The Lord Jesus is our standard. So that in every situation, no matter how offended or difficult it posses, we must forgive those who trespass against us and even pray for them.

*Beloved*, _as week begin the PASSION WEEK today, please note that whenever FORGIVENESS becomes difficult, praying to God to forgive the person makes it easier for us to do so too. This is because if with all the pain and resentment we can still ask God to forgive the person from the depths of our hearts, it lightens the burden on us and makes it easier for us to do same._ Besides, we have always needed God’s love to forgive our many ills too remember? Doing same for others mustn’t be too difficult.

_Begin to pray therefore, that God gives you a compassionate heart to see beyond the hurts and pain caused you by others to be able to forgive them._ *Forgiveness is not an option for us, but the key to unlocking spiritual blessings.*

*Topic: Determined For Impartation And Greatness*
*Text: 2 Kings 2: 1- 6, 9- 10*

_When the Lord was about to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, Elijah and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal. 2 Elijah said to Elisha, “Stay here; the Lord has sent me to Bethel.” But Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel._

_3The company of the prophets at Bethel came out to Elisha and asked, “Do you know that the Lord is going to take your master from you today?” "Yes, I know,” Elisha replied, “so be quiet.” 4 Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here, Elisha; the Lord has sent me to Jericho.” And he replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So they went to Jericho._

_5 The company of the prophets at Jericho went up to Elisha and asked him, “Do you know that the Lord is going to take your master from you today?” “Yes, I know,” he replied, “so be quiet.” 6 Then Elijah said to him, “Stay here; the Lord has sent me to the Jordan.” And he replied, “As surely as the Lord lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So the two of them walked on._

_9 When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?” “Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit,” Elisha replied. 10 “You have asked a difficult thing,” Elijah said, “yet if you see me when I am taken from you, it will be yours—otherwise, it will not.” Amen_

Elisha had a determination to receive "something" (an anointing) greater than His mentor Elijah had. He was not ready to give up the years of sacrifice just to please the desires of his discouraging colleagues. Even when Elijah asked him to take a break, he politely declined; he had his eyes on the goal.

Beloved, for every good thing you set yourself to achieve, you will have many telling you to quit. It isn't always because they want "bad" for you, but sometimes it's because they do not understand the reason behind your determination, neither do they see a high chance of success therein. Remember, even Elijah (THE MENTOR), told Elisha "you have asked a difficult thing."

Nonetheless, Elijah added something else that is great and worth noting; he said "if you see me when I'm taken from you, it will be all yours — otherwise it will not". This means Elisha 's request was difficult, but not impossible.

So the question is, "had Elisha quit on account of his colleagues urging him to, how would he have seen Elijah being taken? And if he couldn't see Elijah being taken, how was he ever going to receive the double portion he desired?"

Meditate on this and begin to pray. Your hope for a greater tomorrow should not die because "discouragers" made you quit today. God wills you at the top, *DON'T GIVE UP AT THE VERGE OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH!*

It’s Illegal To Do This!
*Philippians 4:6-7*

_“Do not be anxious for anything; but in all things, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. And the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind." Amen_

None of us can deny the fact that at times we are tempted to worry (be anxious) about a number of things. Uncertainties and fears often draw us into deep anxiety about the future. But the Word of God in the Scripture above clearly spells out what we shouldn't do, and should do, as children of God.

1) We should never, ever worry about anything; big or small. In Matthew 6, Jesus asks whether anyone can add a single moment to his life span by worrying.
2) We must learn to send all our requests to God through prayer and petition, while thanking Him for our situations.
3) Paul states emphatically that when we do these, we shall experience overwhelming peace from God.

Beloved, present your worries to God and watch Him fight all your battles for you. Remember, it's illegal to worry from today.

Arise, start preparing for Church Service. IT'S GOING TO BE GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!!!
