The Coptic Orthodox Church is an Apostolic Church because it is a living extension of the apostolic church without deviation. The Coptic Church is sometimes accused of exaggerated conservatism and refusal of concessions; however, the church is not stagnant or stolid but faithful and conservative, preserving the apostolic life, and desiring to offer the gift of faith in all its aspects throughout the ages.

“They who inhabit the earth and make their abode there are entrusted with the administration of things which are in Heaven, and have received an authority which God has not given to angels or archangels... what priests do here below God ratifies above, and the Master confirms the sentence of his servants." - St John Chrysostom

With great joy, we congratulate our beloved father, Fr. Mark Eskander on his ordination to the holy priesthood at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Nashville, TN!

Fr. Mark was present when our church first started and he grew up in the church discipled under the late Fr. Mina Iskander and Fr. Pavli Ebrahim.

He served the church in many capacities and across different services and taught and discipled many generations under him.

We thank God for the years we had with Fr. Mark and for his service in our church for the past 23 years. We ask God to bless his new ministry and for him to remember our church in his prayers and to know that this will always be his home and to come visit us often!

Today, we commemorate the 26th anniversary of the ordination of our beloved Fr Mina Iskander, the founder of our church! Even though he served only 10 years here on earth, but his ministry has continued for many more years here on earth. May his prayers and example guide us in our ministries and our lives! Happy Anniversary to our beloved father!!
