We landed in Atlanta, and the government officially allowed our little furball into the United States! From there, we spent two days making our way to Kansas.
This week has been full of getting settled and setting up a temporary home. We are incredibly thankful to have found a furnished rental. We bought groceries and basic start-up supplies, and a friend generously loaned us a car while we shopped around. On Friday, we officially closed the deal on a simple little “get-’er-done” car!
We also stopped by to see family and give plenty of hugs. The little quickly learned that she still has not outgrown her big brother—even if she thought she might have!
A few things we are soaking up:
1. The little was completely amazed by a public library filled with unlimited free books. We have already been twice in two days!
2. Cheese is only $1.25 a block, and blueberries are under $3. You may find us behaving like complete gluttons as we scarf down all the inexpensive dairy and blueberries.
3. Central air conditioning is everywhere. We have not sweated in an entire week, and it feels absolutely glorious
