Holy Thursday
Tonight we enter into the most sacred time of the Church year—the beginning of the Triduum.
On this holy night, we remember the Last Supper, where Jesus gave us the gift of the Eucharist:
“This is my body… This is my blood… Do this in memory of me.”
We also witness His profound humility in the washing of the feet, reminding us that true greatness is found in serving others.
The Mass of the Lord’s Supper begins with joy—bells ring and the Gloria is sung—but soon the tone shifts. The altar is stripped, the church grows quiet, and we are invited to follow Jesus to the Garden of Gethsemane.
“Could you not keep watch with me one hour?” (Matthew 26:40)
Tonight is a night to stay close to Him.
To pray.
To watch.
To remember His love poured out for us.
