God rarely hands us a detailed blueprint of the future. Instead, He gives us a promise: He will guide our steps as we walk with Him. Psalm 119:105 paints this beautifully—His Word is like a traveler’s lamp, lighting just enough of the path for the next faithful step.

To follow the vision God has for you, you don’t need to know every turn ahead. You need faith that the One who called you will lead you—and a heart willing to move when He says, “Go.”

Trust doesn’t mean you won’t feel uncertainty; it means you choose obedience even in the dark, believing His light will appear right when you need it.

The last day of our leadership retreat has been a true blessing to our team. We began the morning with the third and final portion of our study on having VISION, led by our pastor, reminding us that God always speaks before He sends, and that clear, Spirit-led vision is essential for faithful leadership.

Throughout the day, we spent extended time in conversation about where God has Unity Point headed. We listened, prayed, and sought the Lord together about the future He is preparing for our church. We also took time to thank God for the things He has already done in our church recently—celebrating answered prayers, new connections, and the ways we’ve seen lives touched by the Gospel.

To our Unity Point family: thank you for the prayers you’ve sent up for our team this weekend. Knowing you were covering us in prayer gave us encouragement to seek God, and focus fully on the mission He has set before UP. This time has strengthened us not just as leaders, but as a family united in Christ!

We’re coming back encouraged, aligned, and more convinced than ever that God is at work in and through Unity Point.

Together, we’re excited to move forward through Christ, Community and Connection!

One of the most important things a leader in ministry can do is open the Word of God.

You can have experience. You can have charisma. You can have a vision. You can even have people willing to follow you.

But if you aren’t being fed by God’s Word, eventually you’ll have nothing biblical to feed them.

Good leaders don’t just lead people toward God—they continually allow God to lead them.

Before we stand in front of people, we need to spend time on our knees and in His Word.

Before we teach, we need to be willing to be taught.

Before we pour into others, we have to make sure we’re being filled ourselves.

Ministry leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about knowing where to find them.

Stay in the Word. Stay teachable. Stay close to Jesus.

Because the people we lead deserve leaders who aren’t just speaking from experience, but from a life continually shaped by the Word of God. 📖

Jesus knew exactly what was waiting for Him at the cross.

The betrayal.
The rejection.
The beating.
The nails.
The separation.

And yet, Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus endured the cross “for the joy that was set before Him.”

Jesus didn’t find joy in the pain itself. He found joy in knowing that His suffering was accomplishing the Father’s will and bringing salvation to us.

Sometimes obedience to God is painful. Sometimes following His will means walking through seasons we would never choose for ourselves.

But what if, instead of only asking God to remove the pain, we also asked Him to help us find joy in what He is doing through it?

Your pain may be real. Your struggle may be heavy. But that doesn’t mean God is absent.

There can still be joy in serving Him.
Joy in obedience.
Joy in knowing He has a purpose.
Joy in trusting that what hurts today may be producing something eternal tomorrow.

Don’t waste your pain looking only for a way out. Look for what God is doing in the middle of it.

If Jesus could endure the cross because of the joy set before Him, we can ask God to help us keep our eyes on the joy beyond our current circumstances.

The pain may be part of the journey—but it doesn’t have to steal your joy.

10 years…or 1 year 10 times?

Time doesn’t automatically equal growth.

You can follow Christ for 10 years and still be standing in the same spiritual place you were 1 year in. Spiritual maturity comes when we allow God to challenge us, correct us, stretch us, and change us.

The question isn’t just, “How long have I been a Christian?”

It’s “How much have I grown?”

Don’t confuse time in the faith with growth in the faith. 🌱
