Camp Lee Camp Lee We are a retreat and summer camp, tucked in the Appalachian Foothills. We operate year round.

We host our own Residential Camp and Day Camp during the summer. We offer activities such as our natural rock slide, zip lines, team building, swimming, canoes, and climbing wall. We also have basketball courts, volleyball courts, gaga ball, frisbee golf, fishing, rec fields, and nature trails. If you have any questions about Camp Lee please email us or give us a call!

🀄 Cooler evenings + Mahjong under the twinkle lights = a pretty perfect Tuesday night. ✨🍂

Join us this week for Tiles & Twinkle Lights at Camp Lee! We’ll still be out on the porch, so grab a light jacket and come enjoy a crisp fall evening filled with Mahjong, laughter, and good company.

And this week, childcare will be provided, so parents can come relax, play, and enjoy the evening too! 💛

🌿🐞 Our Little Critters are getting closer to their first big adventure!

We’re now just about one month away from the Little Critter’s Nature Preschool Open House, and we can’t wait to show families what preschool at Camp Lee can look like. 🌳☀️

Designed for children ages 3–4, Nature Preschool combines play, exploration, creativity, and hands-on learning with plenty of time spent discovering God’s beautiful creation.

Come learn more at our Open House on Sunday, November 15, from 2–4 p.m. Tour Camp Lee, meet our team, ask questions, and get a feel for the outdoor classroom your little one could call home.

Classes begin January 6, 2027, with two schedule options:

• Monday–Friday | 8 a.m.–12 p.m. | $340/month
• Monday, Wednesday & Friday | 8 a.m.–12 p.m. | $260/month

🌿 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: TASHA CARROLL 🌿

This week, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Tasha Carroll, one of the newest—and already incredibly valuable—members of the Camp Lee team!

Tasha joined us this summer as a Lead Counselor for Little Critters Camp, and she quickly proved that she was willing to jump in wherever she was needed. Since then, she has continued serving as a part-time member of our staff and has played an important role in helping us launch our new Little Critters Nature Preschool. Beginning in January, Tasha will be working with our 3-year-old preschoolers as they learn, explore, and grow through nature-based experiences. 🌿🐞

And if that wasn’t enough, she has also been fearlessly leading our Fall Break Camp this week! 💪

Tasha lives in Welborn with her husband, Rod, and their children, Braxten, Marisa, Maddie, and Saydee. She may also be the busiest mom we know—happily splitting her time between the softball field, dance studio, and dirt track! 🥎💃🏁

We’re so thankful for Tasha’s flexibility, energy, and willingness to serve wherever she’s needed. We can’t wait to see all the ways she continues to help our Little Critters learn and grow at Camp Lee! 💚

Tuesdays are quickly becoming one of our favorite nights of the week at Camp Lee! 🀄✨

Another Tiles & Twinkle Lights night is in the books, and we loved spending the evening around the tables with good friends, lots of laughs, and just the right amount of friendly competition.

There’s something pretty special about Mahjong on the porch under the lights. 💛

🌿 STAFF SPOTLIGHT: VERNON THOMPSON 🌿

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on the man who helps keep just about everything at Camp Lee working, moving, and looking its best—our Director of Facilities and Property, Vernon Thompson!

Originally from Mississippi, Vernon is a proud graduate of Mississippi State University and a loyal Bulldog fan through every season. 🐾

Vernon is also a longtime part of the Anniston First family. He’s a member of the Grove Sunday School Class and can often be found serving as an usher during our Sunday morning Sanctuary worship service.

At Camp Lee, Vernon is the definition of “whatever needs to be done.” From changing lightbulbs and battling plumbing problems to cutting grass and caring for the property, he keeps things running smoothly without missing a beat. We’re incredibly grateful for the care, knowledge, and hard work he brings to Camp Lee every day. 🌲🔧

And when he’s not fixing something at camp, you might find Vernon putting a completely different set of skills to work as the unofficial captain of the Camp Lee trivia team! Every Monday night at Struts, he leads a team of Camp Lee supporters and church members through geography, sports, and history questions. Just don’t count on him for literature, pop culture, or music—that’s what the rest of the team is for. 😂

We’re thankful for Vernon and all the ways he serves Camp Lee, Anniston First, and our community! 💚

Our new Little Critter’s Nature Preschool is designed to give ages 3–4 more opportunities to learn through movement, exploration, play, and time outdoors in God’s creation. 🐞🌳☀️
