Update on the damage to the Mann Cemetery.
The officers of the cemetery want to update you on actions taken thus far to prevent further hog damage at the cemetery. We were advised to make some adjustments in our original fence proposal to keep the "hogs out". Those suggestions were to use a heavier gauge wire, and put a heavy wire at the bottom of the fence. We also increased the length of the original proposed project and added a 16 foot gate. We received three bids. Bad news--The lowest bid was $7400. The good news--Many people responded and we are close to having enough money contributed by Cemetery supporters to pay for the project. The really great news is the new fence installation was completed Saturday October 15th! Thank you SO much to those that contributed to the project. We plan to send out thank you letters when the project is
entirely complete.
Now we have scheduled a work day on Saturday, October 29th at 8am, for volunteers to level the damage done, seed and straw the new topsoil added. Contact Gary Brewer at 573 598 4599 or Leon Setzer at 573 598 4443 if you have questions. All volunteers will be appreciated (make sure to bring a shovel or rake).
