I LOVED seeing Billy Joel perform at the GRAMMYs! It took me back to my first time attending when his performance included my friend & brother, the late O'landa Draper & the Associates! It's been a while since I enjoyed the GRAMMY's as I did this go 'round. Highlights; The tributes to Clarence Avant, Stevie Wonder's tribute to Tony Bennett, Fantasia's tribute to Tina Turner, Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" and her homage to Tina were among highlights. Seeing CELINE DIONE was HUGE! Taylor Swift's LACK of honor and respect to her was disappointing! JZ spoke truth, the presence and participation of Mariah Carey, Lionel Ritchie, Oprah, TRACY CHAPMAN, Joni Mitchell, Brandy, Meryl Streep, the 4 international string players... the mentioning of nephew Aaron Spears took my breath away... a few other things I'm sure, but it kept me the whole time! It's been a long while since that. Could have used some Chaka Khan, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Jennifer Holliday, Al Green, Stephanie Mines, & Jerome Allen Bell… but maybe next time. MY TIME IS UP, they’re playing the music 😅🎶🤣… Congratulations to my Clark Sisters & Gladys Knight on the Lifetime Achievement Awards.
