Boy Scout Troop 1214

Boy Scout Troop 1214 We meet every Wednesday night at 7:00pm at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Annapolis, MD
Summer meetings & times may differ The Troop meets year-round.

Boy Scouts is a program for young men (and women in their own Troops) ages 11 to 18. Our program is high energy, fast pace and theme oriented. We conduct a weekend campout in most months and spend a week each summer at a Boy Scout Summer Camp. Troop Organization
The Troop is organized and managed by a group of older Scouts and facilitated by a group of highly experienced and trained adult Scouters

. The boy leader of the Troop is the Senior Patrol Leader. He is elected each year by the Troop members. The Troop is organized by patrols. Each Patrol consists of a boy Patrol Leader and a boy Assistant Patrol Leader with 4-6 other Scouts. The Patrol Leaders are selected by the adult leaders and he selects his assistant. Our summer program is a weekly "Olympic" theme with a variety of fun outdoor skills such as: biking, hiking, golf, swimming, canoeing, archery, standup paddleboarding, and a cardboard boat race. We conduct a variety of service projects throughout the year during our camping trips, for the Elks, and for our surrounding communities. We are hosted by the Annapolis Elks Lodge and Integrated Financial Strategies supports and is the Chartering Organization that sponsors Boy Scout Troop 1214 for the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Troop 1214 flipped more than just pancakes last night… they flipped expectations. 🥞🔥

The scouts of Troop 1214 proudly served dinner at the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner at St. Martin’s Church — and they did an incredible job!

From pouring batter to plating stacks and keeping the syrup flowing, these boys showed up ready to serve (and maybe taste-test once or twice 😉).

A big thank you to everyone who came out to support the tradition. There’s something special about a room full of pancakes, laughter, and community.

Well done, Troop 1214 — you made it a flipping great night! 🥞👏

⚜️⛪️ Happy Scout Sunday ⛪️⚜️

“A Scout is Reverent.” Today we honored the 12th point of the Scout Law as our Scouts served during Scout Sunday—passing out bulletins, collecting the offering, and reading a passage from the Bible.

Thank you to St. Martin’s for supporting our troop and the Scouting program. We are grateful for your continued partnership and encouragement.

On February 8th, Scouts from across the country gathered and served in their religious communities, living out their duty to God and others.

🎉🦅 It was also a special day as Scouting America turned 116 years old! From astronauts and presidents to artists and community leaders, Scouting has helped shape generations of leaders through values that last a lifetime.

📸 We’d love to see your Scout Sunday moments! Share your photos or experiences and tag us.

Happy Scout Sunday! ⚜️

A few tough Scouts braved the cold (and an incoming winter storm ❄️) to work on their Snow Sports Merit Badge!

January campouts are a little more glamorous when we cabin camp—especially with those colder temps. 🏕️🔥

We shortened the trip to make sure everyone stayed safe and prepared ahead of the storm, but that didn’t stop the Scouts from having a great time, learning new skills, and making memories. Cold weather, warm spirits, and a lot of fun all around!

🎉🏕️ Huge congratulations to Troop 1214’s Malachi Smith on earning his Eagle Scout rank! 🦅 Your hard work, leadership, and dedication have truly paid off. Tonight’s Winter Court of Honor was the perfect opportunity to celebrate this incredible achievement with friends, family, and fellow Scouts.

This weekend a fearless crew of Scouts (plus two very chilly leaders) braved the cold and snow to camp at a local family farm! ❄️🔥 Lots of laughs, big campfire energy, and huge congrats to the Scouts who completed the winter requirement for their Camping Merit Badge! 🏕️💪

On Saturday more Scouts joined us at St. Martin’s Church to tackle gear organization and finish their Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge. 🚗🔧 Big thanks to Admiral Tire in Edgewater for the help!
Proud of these Scouts for their hard work, good humor, and unstoppable spirit! 🌟

It’s that time of year again! 🎄✨
Every holiday season, the boys of Troop 1214 pool together their allowance and troop funds for one of their favorite traditions: shopping for Toys for Tots.

On Wednesday night, the scouts took over Target like a very polite, very enthusiastic tornado. They combed the aisles hunting for the perfect toys for kids of all ages—Hot Wheels, Barbies, board games, Nerf blasters… you name it, it probably ended up in a cart. Even the “big kids” (a.k.a. the troop leaders) were caught having very serious debates in the Lego aisle. 👀🤣

Service projects are such an important part of Scouting. They give our scouts the chance to turn values like kindness and helpfulness into action—strengthening our community and hopefully inspiring a few others along the way.
Proud of these boys and their big hearts! ❤️🛒🎁

What a blast of role-reversal at this weekend’s camping trip at Downs Park!

🦃 The troop invited parents and siblings for a Thanksgiving feast, where the scouts took charge of the main course — Teriyaki Chicken, Pineapple Chicken, and rice. To everyone’s pleasant surprise, it tasted really good. A few parents are now wondering if we can outsource weeknight dinners.

🥧 Dessert made its entrance in the form of dutch-oven pies, lovingly (and slowly… so very slowly) baked over hot coals. Parents brought sides and extra desserts to round out the feast — teamwork at its finest.

🍽️ The real jaw-dropper of the night? The scouts cleaned up and washed the dishes. Yes, chores were done. They are capable. We have proof.

🎭 We wrapped up the night with campfire skits, songs, and jokes — with a solid mix of groans and genuine laughs. It was a wonderful evening all around, filled with good food, lots of laughter, and a very grateful group of parents who didn’t have to cook or clean.

Can’t wait for the next adventure! 🔥🦃🍍🍗
