Dzogchen Sangha of Annapolis

Dzogchen Sangha of Annapolis Dzogchen means Great Perfection or Great Completion. The book 'Awakening the Buddha Within' is used as a primary reference book in our classes.

The Dzogchen Sangha of Annapolis (DSofA) focuses on the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism with a special emphasis on Dzogchen, which is the ultimate or highest teaching in Tibetan Buddhism. Each class includes a Q&A session as well as teachings and readings from many of the great Tibetan Masters. This class was started in 2011, meeting at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis. Until the COVID

-19 pandemic, classes were held weekly and also met in homes. We are hoping to resume in the near future practicing with COVID-19 guidelines in place. The leader of our group, Jerri Kohler, has led many practice groups @ UUCA and has attended 17 Intensive Dzogchen Retreats with her root teacher, Lama Surya Das. Jerri has studied all the schools of Buddhism, as well as attending several retreats in the tradtion of Thich Nhat Hanh. She has facilitated weekend retreats in Annapolis with Lama Surya Das – a world renowned Buddhist teacher, author, and meditation master. Jerri prefers to be called Sangye, which is the Dharma name given to her by Lama Surya Das.
