Racial Reconciliation Collaborative

Racial Reconciliation Collaborative Welcome to the Racial Reconciliation Collaborative! Join us for conversation and community building.

06/20/2023

In honor of Juneteenth, six local faith communities within the Racial Reconciliation Collaborative (RRC) displayed a new banner, “Conversations Build Community” in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. Saint Philip's Episcopal Church, St. Anne's Episcopal Church - Annapolis Maryland , Congregation Kol Shalom in Annapolis, MD Annapolis Friends Meeting, Quakers and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Eastport educated their faith communities about the mission and vision of the RRC over the Juneteenth weekend.

The Racial Reconciliation Collaborative (RRC) is a group of faith communities and individuals who are creating space for education and conversation about race relations, the path towards racial reconciliation, and social justice in Anne Arundel County and Annapolis.

St. Luke’s participated in the first meeting of the RRC in March of 2022 about creating a banner that would allow faith communities to speak with one voice. The purpose of the “Conversation Builds Community” banner is to raise awareness about the mission and vision of the RRC to build a beloved community in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. We can’t build community without being able to talk to one another, especially about difficult topics like the state of racial relations, addressing hatred, anti-racism and social justice.

The St. Luke’s Vestry voted to purchase and display the Conversation Builds Community banner in support of the RRC’s mission. The RRC hosts a quarterly Speaker Series to educate and engage faith communities and the public about racial and social justice. You can learn more about the Racial Reconciliation Collaborative at www.RRCmovement.org and watch the first speaker program about the state of racial relations in our county on the St. Philip’s YouTube channel.
