We will observe Ash Wednesday on Sunday February 22nd. Pastor Ellen will offer ashes, as a begining of Lent, during our Worship Service.

Announcing: Adopt-a-Family gift donation program, Dec. 7 & Dec. 14: This year we have partnered with the Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence to adopt one of their client families in need this Christmas. The family has prepared their lists of wants and needs. If you decide to participate, please select one of the gift tags hanging on the Adopt a Family tree in the narthex, shop for the designated item, and drop off your donations on Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 in the narthex (or call for special pick-up). If you can't make it to church, but wish to participate, please contact Donna Boston to find out which items are still unpurchased, and to arrange an off-site collection. Donna can be reached for this or any other questions at (410) 596-1097, call or text.

Please note the following tips from the Sponsor agency, MSCFV:
If you would rather donate a store gift card, that would be fine too.
Gifts should be unwrapped and please affix the original wish list tag to the gift you purchased, for appropriate tracking to the family member (The MSCFV provides their clients with our gifts and with wrapping paper to wrap their children's gifts themselves.)

2025 Christmas Family Adoption Program Instructions

· Dear UCCA Congregation: we are honored to be able to help a family in need with their gift-giving needs this Christmas. If you decide to participate, we will collect your donations on Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 here in the narthex. The family has prepared their wish lists. Each item on the family members' wish lists will be printed on a tag and hung on our tree in the narthex. Please choose one, and when you bring the gift (unwrapped) to church, please tape the tag to the item for proper tracking.
If you can't make it to church, you can select something off the wish lists attached here and contact Donna Boston for an off-site collection, and she will be sure to remove that particular item's tag from the tree. Donna can be reached for this or any other questions at (410) 596-1097.

Please note the following tips from the Sponsor agency, MSCFV:
If you choose to purchase gift cards, please provide those separately in an envelope with an itemized list of the cards (including the vendor and face value). Sometimes gift cards get stuck down inside boxes or bags so this will help us keep better track of them.
Please also be aware that we only accept new, unwrapped gifts for our families in need. We provide the wrapping paper and tape for our clients so they can wrap the gifts for their children and we wrap the gifts for the parent.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving with friends and family. Looking forward to seeing you Saturday at 10 AM, as we make preparations for greening the church this Sunday.

As the temperature drops, the Missions Committee would like your assistance. Please bring in winter coats, hats and scarves in good condition to share with our neighbors in need. If you dont have any items to donate, maybe consider picking up items at a used clothes store to donate. Thank you in advance for your participation.
