Navigating Tough Waters Together: A Water Communion Sunday

In Unitarian Universalism, Water Communion represents the annual re-gathering of the community after summer. This Sunday, we at UUAA regather in reflection on the times we are living in, our changing human relationship with water, and the meaning and necessity of community. We invite longtime congregants and newcomers to join us this Sunday as we kick off the new congregational year! The Chalice Singers will offer their gift of music.

All are welcome to bring a small amount of water from home or from summer travels to add to the communal bowl. No worries if you forget to bring something; we have water you can use for the ritual.

A reminder that this is our first Sunday back to 2 services at 9:30am and 11:30am; both are also livestreamed at uuaa.org/service.

Thank you to the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor - UUAA for getting involved this ! 🥕🧡

They had 23 people show up to their volunteer shift, dedicating a total of 46 hours to the fight against hunger. In that time they were able to save more than 1,200 pounds of prepared foods and dairy items, and pack it all neatly for distribution to our partners.

UUAA Lunch Group returns after a two-month break! Join the group on Wednesday, September 16 at 11:30am in Fahs Chapel. The Lunch Group is a multigenerational social group that meets monthly on the third Wednesday of the month and is open to all.

This month's guest is the reverend theresa, who will update us on programming for Pastoral Care and generally share any topic of her choosing. A Q&A opportunity will follow. Joys and sorrows will be shared. Please come and help us welcome rev. theresa!

Bring your own lunch. Coffee, tea, and dessert will be provided. All are welcome.

Reminder that the Ann Arbor-Saline Road Construction is still ongoing! For the next few weeks while they finish, the only way to access our building is via the Ellsworth Road entrance. Here's how you can still get to the UUAA through the construction:

Coming from Ann Arbor using Ann Arbor-Saline Road:
- Turn left on S. Maple Rd
- Turn right on (unpaved) Ellsworth Rd
- Turn left into UUAA parking lot

Coming from Ann Arbor using Wagner Rd:
- Continue straight on Wagner Rd as it becomes Ann Arbor-Saline Rd
- Using the roundabout, turn left onto Textile Rd
- Turn left onto Maple Rd
- Turn left onto (unpaved) Ellsworth Rd
- Turn left into UUAA parking lot

This upcoming Sunday, September 6, will be our final service of our Summer Schedule. We begin our 2026/2027 congregational year on September 13, returning to two services on Sunday mornings at 9:30am and 11:30am. Both are live-streamed. September 13 will be our ingathering water communion service.
