Communication and Technology Assistant Job Description

Summary: St. Clare’s Episcopal Church seeks a temporary, part time Communication and Technology Assistant to work onsite for approximately ten hours per week with a team of staff and volunteers to support our congregation’s work and ministry together. This position reports to the Rector and works in conjunction with the Parish Administrator.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Experience working with office and communication tools such as Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Canva, Wordpress, Zoom, and OBS

· Ability to work as part of a team of staff and volunteers to meet goals

· Effective written communication skills using a variety of media, with high attention to detail and accuracy

· Willingness to learn new technologies, suggest creative and effective solutions to problems, and

· Interest in supporting inclusive, justice-oriented community through administrative and communications work

Job Duties:

· Create weekly email and update website, with assistance and input from Parish Administrator and other staff and volunteers

· Run weekly Sunday morning service livestream and create podcast from sermon

· Assist with other administrative tasks such as editing and printing bulletins, answering emails and phone messages,

Position details:

Approximately 10 hours per week, between July 1 and September 30, onsite

Hours onsite: 9:30am to 12:30pm on Sunday mornings, plus somewhat flexible hours onsite on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays

Pay is $27/hour. It includes paid sick leave.

Background check and safe church training are required, according to St. Clare’s personnel policies.

On Palm Sunday, members of Episcopal Churches from Washtenaw and Livingston counties, as well as friends from other religious communities, joined in a public witness and procession in Ypsilanti.
