Our office will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. We’ll return to regular hours on Tuesday.

The holiday grew out of the labor movement of the late 1800s, when workers were pushing for better working conditions, fair wages, and reasonable hours. The first Labor Day celebration was held in New York City in 1882, and in 1894, Labor Day became a federal holiday.

For us, it’s also a good time to recognize the people behind the work we do. Making a monument takes more than a piece of granite. It takes people with the skill and experience to shape, carve, letter, finish, deliver, and set a lasting memorial.

Much of that work is done by hand, with care and attention to details that may be there for generations.

We will be closed on Wednesday to take a day to gather, enjoy some good food, play a few games, and spend time together at our annual summer employee party.
