This year, we are very delighted to announce that Swamiji (Swami Amritaswarupananda), head disciple of Amma’s organizations, will be visiting along with Swami Dayamritananda and Brahmachari Ramanandamrita at the the MA Center Michigan, Ann Arbor on Aug 5th. Swamiji, who many may be familiar with, has been with Amma since the 1970s, and has accompanied Amma for all her programs worldwide for more than thirty-seven years. Swamiji is a speaker par excellence as well as a magnificent singer and composer of bhajans (devotional songs).

On a gorgeous spring day in Michigan, we gathered to celebrate Mother’s Day with Swamini Ambikamrita. Swamini guided us through a vivid visualization of the Manasa Pada Puja and Archana, creating a deeply reflective and uplifting atmosphere. This was followed by a gentle yet powerful session of Amrita Yoga.
Swamini then delivered a satsang titled “Embracing the Motherhood in Each One of Us,” which was truly inspiring. With her calm and collected demeanor, she shared examples from different religions and cultures to illustrate how Mother’s Day is not only a celebration of mothers, but also an opportunity to recognize, honor, and cultivate the nurturing qualities within each of us. She encouraged us to carry this awareness into our daily lives through acts of service and compassion toward others.
The afternoon was devoted to creativity, movement, joy, and laughter amidst the beauty of nature, and the day concluded with a beautiful offering of bhajans that filled our hearts with gratitude and peace.

A special Mother’s Day retreat with Swamini Ambikamrita Prana at MA Center Michigan in Ann Arbor on Sat May 9th,2026.
Swamini Ambikamrita brings a unique and relatable perspective to spiritual life. Raised in California in a devout Catholic household, she beautifully bridges Western culture with Indian spiritual traditions. Her approach to everyday challenges resonates deeply, offering wisdom with clarity, compassion and practicality. Known for her calm and gentle presence, Swamini embodies Amma’s teachings in a way that feels both accessible and profound.

Swamini met Amma in 1987 after finishing her studies at UC Berkley. She has been living in Amma’s ashrams since 1989 and helped to establish the first N. American ashram in San Ramon, California, that year. She lived in Amritapuri, Amma’s main ashram in Kerala, India for 10 years before Amma sent her back in 2004 to America to serve the satsangs here.
