Emma and Alex, two inspiring sixth graders at Holy Cross Lutheran School in Saginaw, Michigan, turned a volunteer experience into a powerful community mission. After visiting Sleep in Heavenly Peace to help build beds for children in need, they felt compelled to do more and decided to launch a dedicated bedding and pillow drive. Taking full ownership of the project, the duo handled all the planning, designed promotional flyers, and even pitched their initiative to the congregation before a Sunday church service. Thanks to their passion and the incredible generosity of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and school community, Emma and Alex raised over $1,500 in just three weeks—enough to purchase twenty brand-new mattresses and ensure multiple local children finally have a comfortable place to sleep.
