Redeemer Lutheran Church

Redeemer Lutheran Church Redeemer Lutheran Church exists to glorify, grow, and go.

Our mission is simple: glorify God in worship, grow closer to God's people and God's Word, and go into Ann Arbor to connect our community to our Redeemer Jesus. Affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), Redeemer Lutheran Church is dedicated to proclaiming, studying, and sharing the unconditional grace of Jesus Christ. As part of the city of Ann Arbor, we have an unique focus on campus ministry at the University of Michigan.

Community service is one of our core values. Every spring, we participate in a park cleanup at two parks in our neighborhood. Thank you to everyone who helped beautify our city and beautify God's creation!

Every springtime, life blooms. After trees lose their leaves and go dormant, this is the time of the year when life springs up and blooms again. Season after season, year after year, from death comes life. So there’s no better time of the year to celebrate Easter than spring. This is a season when we celebrate more than just the blossoming of life out in nature. This is a season when we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. The one who died on the cross for our sins now lives again. From death comes life—physically, spiritually, eternally. Join us this Easter season as we see how Jesus’ life from the dead gives us a blossoming life to live!

Open Forum Coming Up! On March 15, we will have an open forum to discuss some facility improvements in the works. God has blessed us so much in the last few years we are starting to run out of space. We'd love to hear your input as we develop our plans!

Community service is one of our core values at Redeemer, because it's a way for us to show Christ's love in visible ways in our community. Our winter community service event is serving a meal at the Ronald McDonald House. We have many people in our church connected to the medical community, and those families who have extended stays in Ann Arbor really need compassion during a difficult time. Thank you to everyone who helped!

What do you need in life? You might think you need many things—more money, more friends, more love, more possessions—when eventually you realize those things are wants, not needs. Other needs are more apparent—food, water, shelter. But other needs are less apparent. You might say, “I didn’t know I needed that,” when you realize you need something you didn’t think you did. During this season of Lent, we might go through life thinking our needs are met, when God knows what we truly need, even if we don’t think we do. If I lack Christ, I have nothing. But if I have Christ, I have exactly what I need.
