Happy ordination anniversary to these three priests! Father Raphael Assamah and Father Philip Bempong had their anniversary on August 23, and Father James Ahenkora celebrates his today, August 25. We thank these men for giving their "yes" to God!

As some of you may know, one of my favorite things to do is to go deep sea fishing with my family in North Carolina. While Iowa doesn’t have an ocean, I’d love to spend a morning fishing with you and your family on August 22, from 8-11am at Hawkeye Park.

We will be joined by Fr. Ambrose & the Meyer Family, who have volunteered to bring extra supplies and their expertise on fishing local ponds. We will provide water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, worms, and a few poles. There’s a $10 suggested donation, but if cost is an issue, we’d really rather just have you join us (please be sure to rsvp so we know you’re coming).

If you’ve got your own pole / tackle box, please bring it.

Fishers over 16 must have a license. We ask that fishers under 13 bring a parent.

Reminder: it’s bottle & can collection day at the OLIH Youth Room! This is already an impressive haul - THANK YOU!

McKenna will be here until at least 3 and you can continue to bring cans until mass at 5:30pm. She’ll be dropping them off in the morning, so you can swing by before 10am if you have any last minute additions.
