I am reading this incredible book that was written by this beautiful Sister in Christ, Basilea Schlick, PhD. This book has put into words the importance and passion we need to have in Jesus! This author has put into words what only my heart was able to express in how I Love Jesus! Here is just a snippet from the book! Please get it and read it! Jesus is holding out his hand to all of us. Will you take it?
“ loving Him means giving Him first place. It means nothing can stir our hearts as He does. We need to be on our guard against being overwhelmed by earth, joy and sorrows, by our work and activities. When such things preoccupied us, Jesus no longer has first place in our lives and has to leave the innermost chamber of our hearts, His chosen dwelling place. Nothing that concerns, excites or upsets us should be allowed to pe*****te into that sanctuary where He lives and has His throne, ultimately, nothing should quiet us because He who is our peace is living in the deepest recesses of our heart. Every true bride of Jesus makes the innermost chamber of her heart a sanctuary. She keeps it holy, for her greatest joy is His promise to make His dwelling in the hearts of those who love Him. For bridal souls, there is no greater fear than losing their first love by being absorbed with the joys and troubles and ups and downs of daily life. Then Jesus can no longer make His dwelling in their hearts. Filled with trepidation that such a thing might happen, they are careful lest work and pleasure, or even the suffering of others, engross them completely. The bride of Jesus longs that nothing should drive her Bridegroom from her heart. She knows that he requires of us total devotion: He will not share the throne of our hearts with anyone or anything else. He will not have us dominated by troubles, cares, people, or the things of this world. This is why a bridal soul wholeheartedly resist all such influences that might take control of her. He alone is to reign in her.”
Oh my! The love our Lord has for us everyday! And upon our eyes opening in the morning till they close at night His one desire is to have an intimate relationship with us! We are to be a living sacrifice unto our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies, a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
First John 419 reads, “We love, because he first love us.”
I urge you Sisters, if you are searching for a deeper more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, I recommend this book! Every time I read it, my heart is stirred with a deeper and deeper love and passion for Him. He yearns for His bride and His bride only has eyes and heart for Him!
