Join us every Thursday for Bible Study in Pastor January’s office!
In June we’ll work through the story of Ruth and Naomi. With themes of new life blooming in the shadow of death, moving from famine to harvest, and welcoming the stranger, it’s no wonder it’s a perennial favorite.
Please feel free to bring a lunch if you want to! Everyone is welcome.

Why church and why THIS congregation?
Ask someone “what do you think of when you hear the word ‘church’” and you’re likely to get more questions than answers. Which church? What beliefs? Who is welcome? Who is asking?
For those who have been out of church for a long time or who have never been, and for those looking for something new for the next part of their faith journey, they may find themselves wondering why this congregation (the people who make up the church) is worth their time.
For those of us at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Angola, congregation is where we find our answers. We care for one another. We share our stories of triumph and trial. We ask questions about what it means to believe, to doubt, to follow Jesus Christ. We try to heal together—both one another and our neighbor.
The best way to answer your own “Why church?” question is to find a group of people who are interested in answering that question, too. Whether it’s our congregation or one of the many faith communities in the Angola area, we hope you find a church that’s right for you and your questions.
