Elected mayor in 2018, 2016 & 2014 after serving as council member several terms.She has served during periods of rapid growth & during a recession. Andover remains a city with one of lowest tax rates in county because of growth of tax base (now $3.1B) and low crime. Effectively negotiated to maintain low density development so Andover is unlike most cities that work with the Met Council & we thus

remain predominately a single family, owner-occupied community. Supporter of family amenities as it is families with children living in all these owner-occupied homes. Andover offers quality parks, trails & a successful community center that includes a partnership with the YMCA. First community issue was advocating for more local schools which led to Rum River Elementary & Andover High School being built here. President of Andover Economic Development Authority, Board Member of North Metro Mayors & Anoka Co. Member of Grace Lutheran, MN & Anoka Co. Bar Associations, League of Women Voters. Married to Tim, parents of 3 children who grew up in Andover. Andover Mayor Julie Trude seeks your vote on Nov. 8 to affirm Andover is moving in the right direction with new restaurants, retail, trails and quality neighborhoods that respect our desire for low density development while preserving natural features. She supports marketing Andover to more restaurants to provide more dining options, expansion of our trail system and a continued successful partnership with the YMCA at our community center.
