Catching Fire Generations- Aglow Int'l

On one of our Aglow trips to Israel, I remember sitting quietly in the Garden of Gethsemane. My thoughts were going back to the time Jesus went there to pray, knowing what was ahead of Him….death on the cross.

In Mt. 26:36 Jesus urged the disciples to “sit here while I go and pray over there.” He had begun to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. He even said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful even to death.”

The next short portion is so touching to me. He was reaching out to His friends. He knew what was to come. He wanted those He had come to love to be there with Him. He probably wanted, even needed the comfort of their being by His side as He was entering into such a deep distress. He said, “Stay here and watch with Me.” How poignant. It touches my heart.

As He began the agony of His soul, falling on His face, praying, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

When He came to the disciples and found them sleeping He said, “Could you not watch with Me one hour?” “Watch and pray lest you enter into temptation, The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Then the second time He went away and prayed, but He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy.

So, He left them and prayed. He came back a third time saying, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us be going. My betrayer is at hand.”

We are living in another time, another hour…but I hear the same words of the Lord. "Won’t you stay and pray with me?” Our spirit is willing, but our flesh is weak.

It is a time when we need to stay with Him. We need to watch and pray with Him. I believe He sees what is going on in the earth and He is asking us, yes pleading with us stay with Him and pray.

It is the hour. It is the time. We will stay with Him and pray.

To our amazing Aglow leaders.

I have looked since conference for the words since conference to describe where I feel we are at, as far as an Aglow Area.
Where are we since our Hit Your Mark training and Aglow Intl's conference. How to even describe what happened at Conference!

One description I have gone to as a tool to describe how it was at conference was to reference the 3 men in the fire passage.
It felt like we all came in, burnt and scorched, truly like the ones thrown into the fiery flame. But as we pressed in together and
sought the Lord and His word for this season, we started to burn together. Then, Jesus showed up, truly the fourth man in the fire.
We were lit with a fire and a passion to move forward, in unity, in one accord, AS ONE!!

I feel like I am burning still, trying to process everything Holy Spirit did and released. I strongly everyone to watch the webcast of
conference, to recieve a direct impartation of this Holy Blaze! Let us all burn together, for the Harvest, for His Glory and the redemption
of our Area, State and Nation!

We as the Area team are praying about what the next step is for us. We will let you know as soon as we hear Holy Spirit's guidance in
this. Meanwhile, watch, meet and pray and we will step into this new season, together!

Generations

Aglow Generations ProjectThe Generations Project started at Aglow International in 2006 and was born out of many prophetic words calling the younger generation into Aglow. A viable expression of the Aglow ministry, the Generations Project’s aim is to build relationships through community: Join to Have It; Reach to Touch It! Generations Groups range in age from young kids to age 35 who gather monthly to have Godly fellowship and use their talents to interact with their community.

Our Mission: To see young people form community groups, where they first can grow in their relationship with God and one another. As they grow in their gifting, they would use their creativity to touch their community with the Kingdom, bringing light to the darkness.

In 2011, the number of Generations Groups grew from 35 to over 50 groups. Groups are spread out around the world from around the US to Albania, Britain, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Guatemala, Guinea Bissau, Italy, Romania, Zambia and more. Many of our groups are unique and have their own style of accomplishing the mission. We have children’s Bible study groups, teen study groups, dance groups, creative arts sharing groups, worship groups, young moms group, and more.

Young people involved in Generations Project are uniquely impacting their world for Jesus. They are using their gifts to touch hearts. I invite you to start a group, join a group, or travel with us overseas. Come be a part of what God is doing in our Generation.
