Pastor Jamie's sermon on Purposeful Disciple-making (Part II) was a very practical picture of what discipleship should look like in our lives as believers.

Discipleship is, "Deliberately doing spiritual good to someone so he or she will be more like Christ." - Mark Dever

Here's a snapshot of what this looks like in the church:
- Preach the Word & Read it publicly
- Sing the Word together
- See & savor Christ through baptism & the Lord’s Supper
- Seek the Father in Prayer
- Growth Groups
- Serving in the church
- Missions

Here's what this looks like organically:
- Hospitality
- Serve others practically
- Read the Word with others
- Serve with one of our local partners
- Disciple your children

You can start small, but start today! Be deliberate and do something consistently that helps someone become more like Jesus!

In just over 2 weeks, our Go Trip team will be heading to the Dominican Republic! Here’s how you can pray for them and our Global Partners at Freedom International this week:

1. Pray for fruitfulness as our team helps with English tutoring and VBS in villages in the DR.

2. Pray that our team might be an encouragement to our global partners and the other missionaries serving at Freedom International.

3. Pray for safe travels for the team and that they would be able to avoid delays.

4. Pray for the health of our team prior to departure and while we are in the DR. We anticipate high temperatures, so please pray specifically that our team will maintain health despite the heat.

In part I of Pastor Jamie's sermon on Purposeful Disciple-Making, he reminded us that, “Discipleship is primarily and regularly in the life and rhythm of the church.” In other words, the church is where discipleship happens! He pointed out that Christ gave the Church her direction when he said to, “Go and make disciples.”

Now that we’ve defined the importance of discipleship in the church & the profile of a disciple, join us on Sunday for part II as we dive into what it looks like to disciple others in our daily lives!

“How can you and I fulfill the “One Anothers” if we never show up?” How we play our part in the Church really matters in the Great Commission!

One of the characteristics in the profile of a disciple is commitment. Commitment to know and be known by those within your church. Participation in the life & rhythm of your church matters.

How are you doing? Do you show up to church, then slip out as soon as it’s over?

We invite you to take the step to be known by your church family. Stay and meet someone new after church. Join a small group. Volunteer to serve. Make the effort to know and be known by your church family so you can be faithful to the call of discipleship!

Jesus is the Prince of Peace, but that does not mean that peace is universal across the world.

Pastor Jamie reminded us on Sunday that:
1. There is peace available with God through Jesus.
2. There is peace between brother's & sisters in the church through the Spirit's work.
3. The way of the cross does bring peace - partially now, and later in full.

In a world full of chaos, the peace of Jesus can be triumphant in out lives!
