Mt. Zion Church and Cemetery Mt. Zion Lutheran Church was organized in 1847. The church building and Cemetery was built in 1861.

We have given the hospitality and meeting space a freshened look to compliment the beautiful sanctuary.

A few final cleanup touches by our friends with Hoosier Handy Contractors remain. But I stand in awe of the craftsmanship of those who designed and built this structure. The beautiful stained glass leaves such a glorious sight on the walls during sunset and sunrise. Can't you just hear the heavenly chorus?

The work continues on the historic church. Thanks to Handy Hoosier Contractors for their expertise and hard work!
1. Replaced 3 support beams in the basement below the sanctuary.
2. Replaced 3 windows in the back restrooms of the church.
3. Encapsulating the walls to repair the plaster and peeling from years of extreme temps inside the building.

The AC is working well through this heat, thanks to Paul Gustin @ PG Building Services!"

The crew completed blowing the insulation into the 150 year old walls today. They will continue the updates on the building to allow for temperature control year round. This will preserve the building, the interior space, and lower the costs to maintain into the future.

Much needed improvements have started! Basement windows are being installed as part of our preparation for keeping this beautiful church building open year round. New footing for the stairwell was installed yesterday.
