A note from the Senior Pastor, Doug Doan:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. We believe that Christ stepped down from His throne in Heaven and came to live a humble life full of miracles on this Earth. He lived a perfect life and eventually sacrificed His life on the cross for our sins. He wa
s the propitiation for our sins and now all that believe and confess Him to be Lord and Savior of their life shall be saved. He conquered sin and death on the cross and He has overcome the world through His sacrifice and resurrection. The Kingdom of Heaven is now, which means His Lordship is now for all that call Him, Lord. Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We also believe that we are to live by the Great Commission that Christ gave the apostles after His resurrection. He gave some very basic, yet powerful instructions that His Church is to follow. We are called to be light in this dark world and not hide our light under a basket (or within the church walls). We strive to serve our community and find opportunities around our area to bring the light of Christ into the communities around us. We have three or four services a year where we don't gather at Florida Station for a Sunday morning service, instead we assist ministries and organizations in our area. We hold true to the Great Commission and we strive to find opportunities to go into the nations. This is evangelism. However, it doesn't end there. We are also called to baptize and teach those that come to salvation through Christ. Our service for Christ doesn't end by going into the nations, we are now called to baptize and teach the believers in Christ. We do this through discipleship. Discipleship looks like life groups and community living, we were created by a communal God meant to live in community with the Body of Christ. Walking with believers, teaching believers, supporting believers, and exhorting one another is vital in our faith journey. Our Mission Statement is simple. Reach people in the name of Jesus
Teach people about Jesus
And send people in the name of Jesus. We Believe:
God is the creator and ruler of the universe. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The Holy Spirit is available to the believer, sanctified to God. The Bible is the inspired word of God, and without error. People are made in the image of God, yet are separated from him by sin. Salvation is God’s free gift to us, if we choose to accept it. Membership in the church comes through acceptance of salvation. People are created to exist for eternity. Either with God or separated from Him because of sin=Heaven or Hell. Opportunities:
