SOS Primrose Worship Service
June 28th @ 1:30-3 at Primrose Retirement Community
It’s a new week during our Summer of Serving! Join us at Primrose Retirement Community on June 28th at 1:30-3 as we assist in the worship service for the residents. We will be singing, reading scripture, and connecting with members of our congregation that we don’t usually get to see at church. In our Bible story this week, kids learned that God is always powerful. A woman named Dorcas loved Jesus and was known for helping others. When she died in Acts 9:36-43, God showed His power by working through a disciple named Peter to bring her back to life! Kids can know that God is powerful enough to handle everything—including forgiving our sin and making the way for us to have a relationship with Him. Challenge your kids to take 10 seconds and name things in your home that run on power. Remind your kids that God’s power is always here, always awesome, and always helps us love and follow Him.

What an awesome Sunday at First Kids! We learned that God is always awesome, and this week, we helped kids learn that God is always good. In Luke 17:11-19, Jesus healed 10 men with leprosy (a contagious skin disease). When only 1 of the men returned to thank Jesus, He proclaimed that the man’s faith made him well. Kids learned that God is always good and offers us what we need most—a relationship with Him—not because we earn or deserve it, but because of God’s goodness. And we can be thankful!

We made awesome creations and prayer hands to help us remember that God is always good. We played a get to know you game during large group and had egg and spoon races inside the lodge.

Brighten a senior citizen’s day by writing a heartfelt card during the week of June 15th. Your thoughtful words can bring joy and connection to those who need it most. Drop off your cards with Ally Hall by June 28th and help us spread smiles at the Primrose Worship Service.

Anderson First United Methodist Church presents “The STAR Factor”, our 2026 Summer Musical!

Rising 2nd through 8th Graders are welcome to join us for the “Star Factor” musical. Online registration is open now, and the performance is on July 26th at 10am. It is $15 per child to help cover the cost of lunches, snacks, and a T-shirt for each child. Scholarships are available! Please invite any other children you know who might be interested in participating. Rehearsals, meetings, and performance will occur at Anderson First UMC. Anyone who pre-registers and would like to pick up a book to prepare for auditions can get one at the church office the week of June 13. The office is open Monday-Thursday from 9-4. Check out the full schedule below.

Onsite Registration- July 17th @ 4:45-5:30, Parent and Participant Meeting @ 5:30-6:00, Full Cast Party/Intro Rehearsal @ 6:00-8:00 *Dinner provided

Use a laundry bin and rolled-up socks for this fun and slightly competitive game. Set the bin in an open space and take turns making “baskets” with the socks. When one person makes a basket, the other players must make the same basket from the same spot in the same way. Were your eyes closed, and were you standing on one foot? Everyone else needs to make the basket just like that! When you miss, you get a letter in the word good. The game ends when someone spells the word. Share with your kids that, no matter what is going in our lives, we can know that God is good, and we are secure in Him.
