2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

This sums up pretty well what happened on Calvary.
He became sin for us, and we Became the righteousness of God in Him.
We did not earn it but His Righteousness is imputed unto us.
Resurrection Sunday is less than two weeks away. It is important that we take in the full impact of what Christ did for us, how He suffered and His blood was shed so He could take our place on that cross and we could take his place in the earth.

Resurrection Sunday is the most revered day on the calendar because it changed everything. The blood still flows from Calvary. The blood still covers sin. The blood still removes the shame of the past, the blood is still enough to mend your relationship with God.

He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the Earth. It was always His plan to lay down His life for you and I.

Join us Sundays at 3 pm and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm

Luke chapter 15 gives three back to back accounts with a common thread. The lost coin that was found, the lost sheep, and the lost son. Each of these was once “found” but then lost and found again.

This is a very emphatic example by the Lord Jesus of Restoration. This is not simply the sinner who was found by the Lord, but also the backslider who wandered in the world for awhile before coming to his senses and returning to the father’s house… the sheep that got lost and was brought back by the Shepherd.

Too many times we find ourselves agreeing with the devil and questioning God’s restorative intentions.

The Prodigal LEFT. He lived it up in the world until he was broke, broken, and hopeless. He came back to the father’s house Humbly, hoping to be considered a mere servant with the benefit of food and shelter.
The Father rejoiced at his return, FULLY RESTORED HIM, and celebrated with a feast!

If there is any portion of scripture that proves that Every backslider, and every sinner has a place in God’s family, it is this.

Come home backslider…. The father’s arms are open wide. Humble yourself before Him and He will lift you up!

Everything you need will be found in the Father’s House, in His family.

Come home!

James 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Patience is an interesting subject. God has shown me some things in His word recently while I was studying other things, He has shown me some things about Patience.

The Most important, or impactful, thing God has shown me is that Patience takes Faith.
Our Faith says “ok God I know I am in your hands and you will work this out”
Faith says “God I have been wronged by someone, but your word says Vengeance is yours, so I will leave it in your hands and trust that you will handle it…. When you see fit!”
Faith says “I am suffering, sick, wounded etc. I am asking for prayer according to your word and I will wait with Patience for your miracle.”

Patiently waiting takes Faith…. Confidence in God that He is in Control and that your life is in His hands. He knows what He is doing!

When we get impatient we lack Faith that God is in control and involved in our situation…

Remember Abraham and Ishmael. When we get ahead of God we create problems that may endure for a very long time.

Be Patient. Trust God. The process is the lesson.

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

One of my favorite portions of scripture…
If you are struggling with sin, you don’t have to any longer. You can be free! The new birth experience is the life Change that will do it!

Romans 6:1-7 (KJV) 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Be free from sin today!

John 3:5 (KJV) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Acts 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Repentance is where it starts! Repentance is “Death to Self Rule” and surrender to Jesus’ Lordship in your own life.
