October is Pastor Appreciation Month! 🙏

To the pastors of Alaska: thank you. Much of what you do goes unseen, the compassion, the long hours, the quiet sacrifices you make to shepherd your people. Your faithfulness matters, and we are grateful for you. Scripture calls us to honor those who lead us well, "especially those whose work is preaching and teaching" (1 Timothy 5:17).

Churches, this is a great month to bless your pastor! A card, a gift card, extra time off, a trip away, or simply heartfelt words of encouragement can mean more than you know.

And this year, consider a blessing that endures. The Alaska Ministry Network has launched a new Minister's Retirement Program. Beginning in 2027, the Network will make monthly contributions to each participating minister's retirement account. Churches can join in too, with a one-time gift or regular monthly contributions as part of a pastor's compensation package. It's a tangible way to care for your pastor and their family for years to come. Questions about the program? The Network Office would love to help.

Today was a historic day for the Anchorage Samoan Assembly of God! They celebrated the official dedication of their building expansion — a project over 25 years in the making.
We are so proud of the church family for their tireless hard work, sacrifice and prayer. This beautiful structure is the fulfillment of Pastor Vanilau’s original dream for the building. More than just wood and stone, it stands as a testimony to God’s faithfulness and a beacon of hope for the community.
