Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, ELCA

Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, ELCA A community of people journeying together to love, serve & grow in God's Amazing Grace! Vision for our future:
We are Living in God's Amazing Grace!

Our community will practice and experience:
1. Extravagant hospitality:
What does this mean? Our hospitality will be intense, outgoing, active, genuine, welcoming to all, and will protect and care for the vulnerable.

2. Passionate Worship:
What does this mean? Worship will fully engage the heart, mind and will. Worship will spring from the intense love of God, compelling us to action.

3. Intentional faith development:
What does this mean? We will continually remember that we both lead and follow; teach and learn throughout our lifetime. We will strive always to open ourselves to God’s grace and participate in God’s work to transform the world.

4. Risk taking mission and service:
What does this mean? We will increase our participation, work and learning in communities outside of those where we reside and where we are comfortable.

5. Extraordinary generosity:
What does this mean? We will significantly increase our giving of time and money to individuals, communities and causes throughout the world.

ELCA encourages members to mark the National Day of Remembrance for Indian Boarding Schools annually on or near Sept 30.

Today is the National Day of Remembrance for Indian Boarding Schools.

This day acknowledges the history of institutions that aimed to erase Indigenous cultures, languages and identities.

We honor the survivors and the children who never came home.

The folks from Kipnuk and Kwigillingok, so greatly affected by Typhoon Halong last year, could use help preparing for winter. It is fall and they are harvesting and putting up native foods for their families without many of the supplies they lost in last fall's devastating storm.
