RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THEME:
AN IRREFUTABLE PROOF OF PURCHASE

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God (Revelation 19:13).

Our opening verse is about the second coming of the Lord Jesus, when He rides on a white horse and is wearing a robe dipped in blood. Notice that John didn’t say He was wearing a red robe; that’s very significant. The woman on the beast in Revelation 17:4 was dressed in purple and red clothes: “And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour….” Jesus, on the other hand, was wearing a robe dipped in blood. What’s the significance of this?

When you want to lay claims to something you bought, you take the receipt. Jesus bought the whole world: “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field” (Matthew 13:44). Verse 38 shows us that the field is the world. Now, Jesus coming out of heaven to the earth and His only receipt is His blood. He’s robed with it—proof that He bought the whole field. The robe dipped in blood is His proof of the purchase. Hallelujah!

1 Corinthians 6:20 says, “For ye are bought with a price….” You weren’t bought with ordinary materials like silver, gold, and precious stones. His blood was the currency with which He paid for the sins of the whole world (1 Peter 1:18-19). Having paid the price for our sins, Jesus purchased us as gifts to God: “They were singing him a new song with these words: “You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it; for you were slain, and your blood has bought people from every nation as gifts for God” (Revelation 5:9 TLB).

Jesus paid for your life; so, you’re not your own anymore. He bought you with a great price. Henceforth, live on earth for Him alone because His blood, which represents His life, is your true value. The blood of Jesus gives you remission, justification, access, fellowship, cleansing and the blessings of the New Testament. The Bible says, “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us” (Hebrews 9:12). Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, thank you for paying the price that I could never have paid, in demonstration of the Father’s unconditional love, mercy and overwhelming kindness towards me. Thank you for purchasing me as a precious gift for the Father! Now I live joyfully in righteousness, free to serve you without guilt, inferiority or condemnation. Hallelujah!

*Romans 8:11 “…If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”*
▶️ *LET’S TALK*
Stacie, a Christian who had received the Holy Spirit, unwittingly picked up on the unpleasant language of her friends at school: she would say some rather unwholesome things about herself whenever she was in their company, thinking that such talk would bring her some form of validation: “I nearly died when I heard that song,” “That joke tickled me to death,” “I’m dying of boredom,” and the like. She didn’t realise that talking that way was why she was always in one sickness after the other.
When you’re born again, you’ve got a new life and you ought to talk like it! That life affects your whole spirit, soul and body. Our opening verse says if the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, that same Spirit shall vitalise (make alive) your mortal body. This already happened because the Spirit lives in you now. Like Stacie, many aren’t experiencing this reality of the Word of God in their lives because they’re not talking and acting on the Word. If you don’t understand this truth, you’ll be subject to the elements of this world, dominated by headaches, fever, diabetes and all manner of sickness and disease.
Don’t go through what spiritual slaves go through; come to a place in your life where you say, “Enough is enough; I refuse to be sick.” Learn to talk the Word and exercise authority over your body. If you can’t exercise authority over your body, how are you going to exercise it over cities and nations?
Your body is the first place to practise authority. If you feel the symptoms of sickness in your body, say, “No! A thousand times no! I’ve got the Spirit of God in me! I’ve got the life of God in me! I’ve got the strength of God in me, from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet! I’m healthy and sound! My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, and no sickness, disease or infirmity can thrive therein! Hallelujah!”
You can mend your heart, lungs, kidneys, and every other part of you! Talk to your skin, your bones, your blood, and keep them in health. Glory to God!

SEIZE UPON THAT LIFE! (Lay Hold On God’s Eternal Life And Essence In You)

1 Timothy 6:12 AMPC “...Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were summoned and [for which] you confessed the good confession [of faith]....”

▶️ LET’S TALK
“Pastor, please lay hands on me so this sickness can leave,” moaned Cecil. “There’s no need for that, Cecil; you’re born again, and you’ve got the same life God has right now! Wake up to the consciousness of it, declare it, and watch sickness become a thing of the past!” the Pastor admonished.

John 3:16 shows us that Jesus came to give eternal life to every single person on earth so they could live in fellowship with God. The question to ask is, did He achieve His purpose? Emphatically, yes! The Bible says, “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11 NIV). He’s not about to give us eternal life; He’s done it!

The next verse says, “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:12 NIV). He’s referring to the life and nature of God, the divine essence. This life is incorruptible; it’s neither subject to failure nor death! This is the life you have in Christ. Ephesians 2:1 AMPC says, “And you [He made alive], when you were dead (slain) by [your] trespasses and sins.” You’re not dead in sins anymore. Why? You have eternal life now!

Not many Christians are aware that they have this eternal life! So, John says, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13 NIV). He wrote this to them because they lived as though they didn’t have the divine life. Now, you can better understand why Paul, writing to Timothy, said, “…lay hold on eternal life….” “Lay hold on” is “epilambanomai” (Greek), and it means to take a hold of something without letting go. That’s how you should relate with your eternal life.

Don’t let eternal life be a cliche with you. Seize it; make it work for you. Every so often, declare, “I have eternal life, in the Name of Jesus; therefore, I live above the elements of this world; I’m in dominion!” If there’s been an issue with your health, don’t cry; rather, declare, and keep declaring, “I’m perfected in Christ Jesus; I refuse to accommodate any sickness, disease or pain in my body because I have the life of God in me! I’ve taken hold of eternal life!” Soon enough, your physical body will comply because it’s been impacted by the divine life in you.

KEEP A “LIE-FREE” TONGUE (The Word Of God Is Truth, So Speak It Always)

📖 TO THE BIBLE
Colossians 3:9 TLB "Don't tell lies to each other; it was your old life with all its wickedness that did that sort of thing; now it is dead and gone.”

▶️ LET’S TALK
In this year of preparation, lying is one habit you ought to kick out of your life entirely because of its dangerous consequences. God's Word is truth (John 17:17), and the Holy Spirit is known as the Spirit of Truth John 16:13). Truth always dodges liars, and God builds up a resistance against those who don't celebrate the truth. The more they lie, the more He resists and avoids them.

A liar isn't merely a person who told a lie; he’s the one who makes a habit of lying; he fabricates lies. Revelation 22:15 tells us about such people: “..Outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.“ This shows the liar plans or strategises his lies. He knows what he's saying is wrong but still goes ahead to say it anyway because he or she is self-centred.

A liar is also one who says something contrary to God’s Word. The Bible says, “...indeed, let God be true but every man a liar..." (Romans 3:4). As long as a man’s confessions are inconsistent with God’s Word, then they’re lies! For example, the Word says in Romans 5:1: “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." If you're born again, you must accept and walk in His righteousness. If you keep saying “No one can really be righteous before God,” that would be a lie because it’s inconsistent with what God has said.

1 Peter 3:10 TLB tells us something instructive: “if you want a happy, good life, keep control of your tongue, and guard your lips from telling lies.” You can't be speaking God's Word and at the same time lying. That's a contradiction. The man who lies to others doesn’t deserve the truth because he doesn't tell the truth. But if you’re a young man or woman of truth, the truth will promote and protect you (Psalm 91:4). Hallelujah!

SATURDAY 3RD APRIL.

BE CONDITIONED TO YOUR DIVINE NATURE

For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? (1 Corinthians 3:3).

If you’re born again, even though outwardly you may look like your next-door neighbour who isn’t born again, a real transformation took place in your spirit. You were actually, literally, born divine—born anew with the life and nature of God. Not only are you godly, you’re God-like.

But because many don’t know this, they say, “We’re all humans.” No, we’re not; that’s what you were before you were reborn. The human “you” died, and a new you came from God. That’s what John meant when He said, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4); it means you hail from God; your life is divine.

What God expects is that you become conditioned to your divine nature. It’s the purpose for the renewing of your mind: Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind….”

You may say, “But in the Book of Acts, Peter told Cornelius that he himself was a man.” You may also refer to the occasion where the people at the cities of Lycaonia almost worshipped Paul because of the signs and wonders he had performed, and he told them, “... We also are men of like passions with you...” (Acts 14:15).

But here’s what you must understand: the apostles, at this time, hadn’t fully understood the mystery of the Gospel. Otherwise, they’d have communicated differently. Think about it: Jesus never talked like that. He said, “…I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world” (John 8:23).

When it dawned on Paul through revelation of the Spirit that he was the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, he expressed it differently. He said the Christian is “a new creature”—a new type of man (2 Corinthians 5:17). The same Peter also graduated to a higher class and in His epistle, he called the Christian “partaker of the divine nature”; associate of the God-kind.

Psalm 82:6 says, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” If you talk and live as a man, you’ll suffer the things men suffer. Become conscious of your divine nature and practise the divine life.

CONFESSION
Through meditation on the Word, I’ve become conditioned to my divine nature. I have “Kingdom sight,” and Kingdom perception. I think, talk, and live as an associate of the God-kind. Glory to God!

▶️LETS TALK
Some Christians wonder why things in their lives don’t seem to align with the beautiful blessings and provisions the Gospel provides, even though they’ve been born again for many years. They’re always broke and sick and constantly complaining. The reason for their plight isn’t far-fetched—they haven’t learnt to control their lives with their tongue.

You can be anything you want to be, have anything you want to have, and achieve anything you want to achieve if you’d only control the way you talk. Let your speech be regulated by God’s Word. If it’s not the Word, then don’t say it! What you say consistently rules your life, so choose today to speak the right words only-words that are consistent with God’s Word.

Believe it or not, who and what you aretoday are the results of what you said yesterday.What you say is what you get!So don’t say, “Well, I was only joking; I didn’t quite mean it!” Good or bad, you’ll have what you say—whether or not you meant it. That’s why I tell people, “Say what you mean, and mean what you say”; never joke against the Word. Psalm 12:4 says, “With our tongue we will prevail; our lips are our own...,” letting you know that you’re to regulate your life with your tongue.
