Leave the FOB Ministries wishes to thank Wilsonville Baptist Church for traveling to Alaska from Alabama to share in our ministry. We were blessed with support and donations from our church visitors.

On June 5 and 6, 2026, our ministries served meals at the Anchorage Cold Weather Shelter and Linda's Place on 5th Avenue.

Our ministries recognize that fellowship is always better with a full belly.

“Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” — 1 Timothy 5:8 (NIV)

What does it mean to provide?

The Greek word used here is pronoeō—to think ahead, to care for, to take responsibility for, and to make provision for someone’s needs.

And the word translated “anyone” is tis—anyone, someone, any person. This responsibility is not reserved for husbands, fathers, or any particular member of a family. It speaks to all of us.

In its immediate context, Paul is addressing the responsibility to care for family members who are genuinely in need, particularly widows who could not adequately provide for themselves. The principle is simple: we should not knowingly allow those entrusted to our care to go without what they genuinely need when we have the ability to help.

There is also a difference between needs and wants. Scripture does not command us to satisfy every desire or provide every comfort. It calls us to care for genuine needs—to feed, shelter, protect, care for, and support those who need help.

At Leave The FOB Ministry, we believe that responsibility begins with our own families and extends outward into the community around us.

There are people right here in our community who are hungry. People who need shelter. Veterans struggling to find their footing. Families and individuals who simply need someone willing to see their need and respond.

We cannot meet every want. We cannot solve every problem. But when God places genuine need in front of us and gives us the ability to respond, we believe Christians are called to act.

That is why we serve.

As summer begins to wind down, we want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported the mission of Leave the FOB Ministry.

Throughout the summer, our volunteers have been out serving those experiencing homelessness by providing meals, encouragement, essential supplies, and, most importantly, hope. Every conversation, every meal, and every act of kindness reminds us that no one should feel forgotten.

This work would not be possible without those who pray, volunteer, donate, and stand alongside us. Your generosity has made a real difference in the lives of our neighbors.

While summer may be coming to an end, the need continues. Together, we will keep serving, keep caring, and keep showing the love of Christ to those who need it most.
