Prayer for workers & employers... Many changes have been/are being made regarding how incarcerated individuals move within the walls of Anamosa State Penitentiary. In a conversation last week, Pastor Stadtlander heard that some men have elected to quit their jobs in the higher paying shops due to new search protocols which they feel infringe on their human dignity (i.e. a better paying job doing generative work in a shop is not worth submitting oneself to the pat/x-ray/scanner searches twice a day).
On this Labor Day weekend, FreeIndeed invites you to pray for those employed, those who employ, and those who steward security at Anamosa State Penitentiary; may all find a way to live and work together with respect for all and their craft!

Attendance DOUBLED! Cue the Music!!! This Sunday, August 22, Pastor Stadtlander will serve Holy Communion at All Faiths Chapel - Anamosa State Penitentiary & attendance will be twice what it was at last month's Eucharist, THANKSGIVINGS abound!!!

ORIENTATION --> New Member Classes? How 'bout this?! One of our Chapel Clerks has the opportunity to meet with all individuals who are newly incarcerated at the Anamosa State Penitentiary. During one of their Orientation sessions in which they are learning about the rules/boundaries/expectations of their new life, the Chapel Clerk gets to plug making All Faiths Chapel activities/resources part of their new life! Alright, welcome/evangelism/new member teams & committees and pastors, wouldn't it be fantastic if you had a chance to do this with every person/family moving into your community?

Holy Communion / The Eucharist / The Lord's Supper will be shared for the first time with the Incarcerated Individuals at Anamosa State Penitentiary & Pastor Stadtlander! What a difference 1 year, 3 months, 10 days makes: In the photo, Pastor Stadtlander was masked for his first Sunday in leadership at ASP, April 12, 2020 (a service without Communion due to the pandemic) ... and with safety/health in mind, this Sunday, July 25, 2021, will be a day of Thanksgiving!!!

Prayers & Shouts of JOY! In-Person Visiting for family & friends for Anamosa State Penitentiary has resumed!!! After 15 months of no visits or video-only visits, in-person visiting has resumed. The individuals incarcerated are thrilled and FreeIndeed invites you to rejoice with us.

Incarcerated Individuals have consistently said that the deaths of staff members, Correctional Nurse Lorena Schulte and Correctional Officer Robert McFarland, has affected them like it was a death in their own families. Remembrances, tributes, and thanksgiving of their lives and service continue:
Pastor Stadtlander and his wife, Sarah, joined others in planting flowers in a memorial garden dedicated this spring in honor of Bobby Mac and Lorena.

Prayers of THANKSGIVING: All Faiths Chapel is open for WORSHIP! As we progress to a "new normal" at Anamosa State Penitentiary, Pastor Stadtlander led the first Ecumenical Sunday Morning Worship Service since March 23, on Sunday, June 27! All were grateful to gather in community around the Word of God in worship, song, and prayer!!!
