Our "sermon in song" yesterday was welcomed by some and "wondered about" by others. I mentioned at the beginning of our worship time that the "order" would be a bit different and that the lyrics of the songs would make many of the points of the lessons we can take from Joshua 23--Joshua's Final Charge to the Israelites. We rapidly approach the end of our trip through Deuteronomy, this Sunday being the next to last lesson from this amazing book. A reminder from Moses to the Israelites of the Law God gave to them, this time as they are about to enter their Promised Land of Canaan, is a strong reminder of the importance of obeying God, and ways they had to remember those laws. As Christians we live under the New Testament which also contains laws and principles we must obey if we are to be pleasing to God.
