This Thanksgiving, we can not help but praise God for His blessings. What can we give back to God for the blessings He's poured out on us?

We lift high the cup of salvation. It's a toast to our God. We'll follow through on the commitments we made to Him and week do it in the presence of His people. (See Psalm 116: 7-8).

Victory Anaheim is on the cusp of our new beginning. We thank God for everyone who helped make it happen and those who will help make it a bountiful reality.

Come and see what the Lord is doing.

The Hitch that Restrains Faith

Interactions between the physical and material world are mysterious. 🙏

The rules of nature don't always apply when faith arrives on the scene. Jesus willed the unfruitful fig tree's demise. 🪴 Plant life is subject to the will of the Creator. He gave the disciples vision for greater things...moving mountains. ⛰️ But the hitch is doubt.

>>> Where doubt exists it squelches faith.

It doesn't take much doubt to suppress faith. Doubt about ourselves keep us where we are and doubt about God keeps us from breakthroughs.

Where there is doubting there will be no change. Doubting God keeps us from experiencing divine power. When doubt arises there will be no breakthroughs.

Remember this 👉👉👉 If you take faith from any equation all you're left with is the natural order and mathematics.

There is nothing wrong with the natural order, but then there will always be the gnawing thought that greater is possible and exceptional is probable with faith. So what's keeping you from trusting God?

Five Ways to Make 2024 Your Best Year Yet!

God is at work. Let's be the kind of people who are ready to be the hands and feet of Jesus on earth. Here's how...

Embrace Personal Responsibility:

Take full responsibility for your life, choices, and actions. You have the God-given power to shape your own future. The day a person comes into full maturity is the day they take ownership of every area of their life.

Ezra 10:4 ESV
“Arise, for it is your task, and we are with you; be strong and do it.”

Seek Purpose and Vision:

Seek guidance from God to discover your life purpose and vision. Having a clear sense of purpose provides direction and motivation. Purpose and Vision are your “What” and “Why” for everything you do.

Proverbs 16:3 ESV
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

Practice Gratitude:

Appreciate the blessings in your life, even amidst challenges. Gratitude fosters resilience and a positive outlook. Gratitude is the lubricant to a well running life. Gratitude is a superpower. Gratitude makes you think more clearly and make better decisions.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ESV
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Build Resilience:

With internal resilience, you will overcome challenges. You build resilience by developing coping mechanisms, talking yourself out of bad situations, seeking support from others, and maintaining a positive mindset during difficult times.

Isaiah 40:31 ESV
“but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Take Action:

Standing still when you need to act will cause you to miss opportunities. Take action and don’t wait for someone else to solve your problems. We all have to step out of our comfort zones and move actively towards our goals.

1 Peter 1:1
“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

"Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody!
6 With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!" Psalm 98:5-6 ESV

Lily Colinco is a true gem. She serves on our worship team, helps with Young Adults planning and social media, and even helps with our youth group.

Lily is such a sweet person, loves to laugh, and has so many talents. She's currently a student at Long Beach State and we can't wait to see all that she accomplishes in the years to come!

As pastor appreciation month winds down, we want to highlight our Lead Pastor Dave Lantow. He came as our pastor nine years ago. Dave looks at his work at Victory Anaheim as a labor of love. This is the church he grew up in and where he was baptized. He is the fourth pastor in our history.

Dave is most excited to help people break free from what's holding them back. That's what attracted him to pastoral ministry in the first place. Dave was born in Long Beach and grew up in Buena Park. As a child, he used to come to church on our bus ministry in the 1970s and 80s.

Like so many of us, he can't wait to get started with our building project and move into new territory as a church. He believes we're meant to have Victorious Christian lives every day.
