We’re almost ready to step into September—which means Worship School is launching!

One of the foundational courses available to full-time students and those participating in our Discovery Track is Songwriting, and we are so excited to step into this course together.

We have an incredible team of instructors co-teaching the course, including Tommy Murphy, Kathryn Scott, Paul Arend, and more. Together, we’ll explore the building blocks of songwriting, dive into music history, and learn how to craft and shape songs that minister to the heart of the Lord.

Students will also have practical songwriting projects where they can create, collaborate, and explore together—all leading toward recording songs that the Lord gives us.

Our hope is to create space for the songs the Lord is placing within our house to rise to the surface through these class times. A new sound is rising, and you have an opportunity to be part of it.

We’re just a few weeks away from the start of a new semester, and we’re so excited to welcome a new group of students into Worship School for a season of training, discipleship, and formation.

This semester, we’re excited to open a few of our foundational Worship School courses to the wider Dwelling Place community through our new Discovery Track.

The Discovery Track is for those who want to be part of Worship School but aren’t able to commit to the full program because of work, family, or other schedule commitments.

These are 12-week courses combining teaching and practical training, designed to help you grow, develop your gifts, and take a meaningful next step in your formation as a worshiper.
This semester’s courses:

🎵 Songwriting
Tuesday mornings (10am-12pm)
📖 Storyline of Worship (Theology)
Wednesday mornings (10am-12pm)
🔈 Live Sound & Production
Thursday afternoons (1pm-3pm)

Each course is led by experienced leaders who are passionate about equipping and discipling others.

If you’re hungry for the Word, hungry for His presence, and hungry to grow in what God has placed inside of you, this could be a great next step.

We’re so excited to announce that Tommy Murphy will be joining our teaching team for this year’s Worship School!

Tommy has been a worship leader and a valued part of our community for many years. He brings a deep passion for worship, a genuine love for Jesus, and a wealth of experience in songwriting, musicianship, and leading others into God’s presence.

Applications are open until the end of August, so there’s still time to join us. If you’re hungry to grow, go deeper in your worship, and be equipped alongside an incredible community, we’d love to have you!

We are so excited to welcome and members of the team from as guest instructors for the upcoming School of Worship ✨🎶

One of the greatest gifts of learning in a school environment is the opportunity to sit under the wisdom and experience of a wide range of worship leaders, pastors, and creatives. Not only from our own house, but also from faithful leaders serving churches around the world 🌍

We’ve been so encouraged by what the Lord is doing through Chroma Church, and we’re honored to have Joel and the team invest in our students this year.

We are so excited to give you a glimpse of how the spaces for our Worship School are coming together!

As we watch these rooms take shape, our expectation continues to grow for all that they will hold in the coming year. These spaces will be places of connection, formation, worship, prayer, transformation, creativity, and songwriting. Places where hearts are awakened to minister to the Lord and lives are marked by His presence.

Applications are officially open, and it has been such a gift to meet students who are hungry to grow in worship and prayer, deepen their relationship with Jesus, and be equipped to serve His heart.

We’re excited to announce our Fall Semester courses!

We believe this semester could mark a turning point in your journey as a worshipper of Jesus.
God always invites us deeper—deeper than gifting, knowledge, or what can be learned on a platform. He invites us into a life shaped by His Word and His presence.
Every course this semester was designed with that invitation in mind:

For the musician who knows there must be more than technical excellence.
For the creative who senses there is a deeper well waiting to be discovered.
For the worship leader who longs to lead from overflow instead of striving.
For the believer who wants to grow in understanding, encounter, and wholehearted devotion to Jesus.

This is more than learning new skills. It’s about becoming the kind of worshipper whose theology fuels wonder, whose creativity flows from communion, and whose private life sustains their public ministry.

There are moments when heaven feels close.
Moments where courage rises, chains fall, and new life becomes visible.

This Sunday, we witnessed people publicly declare their yes to Jesus.
Stories of freedom, surrender and of new beginnings.

Baptism is more than a moment in the water.
It’s a line in the sand.
A declaration that the old is gone, and new life has begun.

As a house, we celebrated every testimony, every tear, every smile, and every step of obedience. 🤍
