Today is Ascension Day, celebrated 40 days after the resurrection of Jesus. It marks the moment when Jesus returned to the Father after appearing to His disciples and preparing them for what would come next.
We will celebrate Ascension Day on Sunday and it's only fitting that we will also take that time to honor our graduates!
The Ascension of the Lord reminds us that Jesus did not simply depart from the world. He continues His work through us. Before returning to the Father, He entrusted His followers with a mission and promised the gift of the Holy Spirit.
God’s grace is always at work—leading us, shaping us, and sending us into the world to share Christ’s love. The Ascension is not about Jesus being far away; it is about Christ still being present and active, calling us to be His hands and feet. Today we lift our eyes in hope and step forward in faith, knowing we never walk alone.
In 10 more days, we will close out the season of Easter with Pentecost Sunday, celebrating the descent of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church. We hope you will join us for these very special next two Sundays. Worship begins at 9:00am!
-Shalom!
